Real Madrid Transfer News: Latest David De Gea and Fernando Llorente Rumours
With negotiations between Real Madrid and Manchester United seemingly at an impasse for the transfer of David De Gea, Los Blancos are reportedly hoping for a little help from the Spanish stopper in order to get the deal done.
According to Eduardo Fernandez-Abascal of AS, the Spanish giants want De Gea to push a little harder for a move away from Old Trafford:
"The former Atlético Madrid man has been blunt in communicating his desire to leave. At the end of last season he made it clear that he wanted to return to the Spanish capital in rejecting a bumper new contract offer (he is out of contract next summer).
And after negotiations between the player and United were unsuccessful in June, the goalkeeper told Van Gaal about his desire to leave Old Trafford.
That came on July 6, when he had to return to United to start pre-season training. The pressure from the goalkeeper has so far been unsuccessful and Madrid, while still trying to persuade United, want De Gea to take things a step further.
"

Poisonous transfer wrangles are not something supporters typically want to see. But from a Los Blancos perspective, if some added pressure on the player prompts him to express his desire to leave with a little more conviction and a move materialises, then it’ll be a job done.
However, Sam Pilger of FourFourTwo doesn’t think the Red Devils can afford to relinquish their prized asset after the positive moves they’ve made recently in the transfer market:
Indeed, these kind of underhand tactics could be interpreted as desperation from Madrid. And given United boss Louis van Gaal recently praised the goalkeeper for his “fantastic attitude” up until this point, per David Anderson of the Daily Mirror, he looks unlikely to kick up a fuss. But, Madrid are already making contingency plans, it would seem.

J.I. Garcia-Ochoa of Marca wrote that an agreement is in place between De Gea and Real already if a transfer doesn’t get done this summer:
"The pact drawn up between the two parties dictates that should Real decide to go back on the plan, they would have to pay the keeper the equivalent of what will be a year's salary at his future club – a cool €5 million net.
With this deal, Real Madrid can ensure that De Gea doesn't renew with Manchester United, the keeper knowing what he is to earn next year, a lot more than he is presently on under Van Gaal, although probably less than what he is about to be offered by the English club in the proposed contract renewal.
"
Perhaps, given De Gea only has one year remaining on his contract with the Red Devils, the La Liga giants were expecting the Premier League club to eventually yield. But as noted by Fernandez-Abascal, United are staunch in their standpoint, as they want €49 million and Sergio Ramos as part of any deal.
In addition, with Iker Casillas now a Porto player, there’s a major void to fill between the sticks at the Santiago Bernabeu. De Gea is the standout candidate and should Los Blancos part with €49 million, he would be well worth the outlay. But at this juncture, Real seem to be at a loss as to how they can get this deal over the line this summer.
Real Madrid in Talks With Fernando Llorente

New Los Blancos boss Rafa Benitez is hoping to add some more reinforcements to his forward options, according to David Amoyal, translator on behalf of GianlucaDiMarzio.com. He noted Real Madrid are in talks with Juventus about signing Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente.
The piece claims the capital club were the first side to make official contact with the player, who is also a reported target for Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, with Benitez seeing Llorente as the “right alternative to mainly come off the bench.”

As we can see here courtesy of Ben McAleer of WhoScored.com, during his time with Athletic Club in La Liga, the forward thrived:
At his peak Llorente is a sophisticated target man and a player who would add a physical dimension to Real’s attack. But the forward is 30 years old now and after spells in and out of the first XI at Juventus, he would surely prefer to join a side where he will be first choice.
Bleacher Report’s Sam Tighe thinks Tottenham would be an ideal destination for the Bianconeri striker:
Madrid only really have Karim Benzema as an orthodox centre-forward, but Benitez could also turn to Cristiano Ronaldo as a man to lead the attack. Nonetheless, it’s clear the club needs another striker that can refresh Real’s attack should the club be toiling in matches.

Llorente would be tempted by a move back to Spain and the gravitas of a club like Real will be tough to stave off. But if the Juventus man wants to play regular games and show his very best attributes at a high level, the forward should look at other offers that will inevitably come his way.
