4 Arsenal Players Who Should Be Loaned out in 2015/16 Season
This summer, Arsenal have a squad packed with talent. After the acquisition of Petr Cech from Chelsea, it’s difficult to see where exactly new arrivals are required.
That means there will likely be a shortage of opportunities for certain players to shine. Those on the fringes of the squad may have to go on loan in order to gain first-team football—either due to their age or the sheer depth at Arsene Wenger’s disposal.
In this piece, we identify four players who should be allowed to make a temporary move for next season.
Emiliano Martinez

With the arrival of Petr Cech, Emiliano Martinez is currently the fourth-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal. Although another keeper may leave to ensure he jumps up the pecking order to third, the chances of him getting regular football remain slim.
That’s a shame, because Martinez is at a key point in his development. Last season, he made a handful of appearances for the Arsenal first-team before impressing in a loan spell with Rotherham.
He should be looking to make a move to another Championship-level club in order to gain more experience. Martinez will be 23 just a month into next season; he can no longer afford to bide his time in the reserves.
Yaya Sanogo

With Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott all ahead of him in the queue to start at centre-forward, Yaya Sanogo’s first-team prospects at Arsenal do not look good.
That’s probably right. Sanogo is still very raw and a long way from the finished product. Were it not for Arsene Wenger’s unwavering faith in him, there’d be a case for selling him permanently.
Last season, he spent five months on loan with Crystal Palace, scoring just once. He will need to be more prolific in his next loan spell if he is to prove he has a long-term future as a Gunner.
Serge Gnabry

After missing over a year with a serious knee injury, Serge Gnabry needs regular football to return to his best.
Prior to succumbing to his knee problem, Gnabry had appeared on the verge of making a first-team breakthrough. Now he has a mountain to climb to force his way back into contention.
He has the talent. At his best, Gnabry is a powerful dribbling midfielder cut from the same cloth as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He simply needs the opportunity to try to rediscover his rhythm.
That’s not going to come at Arsenal, so Gnabry needs a spell elsewhere—ideally with another Premier League club so he can continue his acclimatisation to elite-level English football.
Carl Jenkinson

Carl Jenkinson spent the entirety of last season on loan at West Ham, and although Jack Watts of the Star reports that the Hammers are now looking to sign him permanently, Arsenal would be well-advised to ensure he only leaves temporarily.
Although Mathieu Debuchy and Hector Bellerin currently have the right-back spot covered, Debuchy will soon be 30 and may not offer a long-term solution. After another season of regular Premier League football, Jenkinson could be ready to take his spot.
Jenkinson is an Arsenal man through and through, and Wenger and the supporters would love to see him take up a permanent place in the squad. With that in mind, he should only be allowed to leave on loan.
