Cristiano Ronaldo, Angel Di Maria Transfers in PSG Sights After FFP Boost
Paris Saint-Germain are free to pursue Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, their "number one target," or Manchester United's Angel Di Maria after UEFA lifted the financial fair play restrictions that curbed the club's spending last summer.
That's according to a Telegraph Sport report, which notes PSG are no longer limited to spending €60 million (£42.5 million) during the current transfer window. Toulouse defender Serge Aurier has already made his loan move permanent for €12 million (£8.5 million), but the Qatar Sports Investments-owned club is now free of UEFA's shackles after last year's fine and squad cap.
Jason Burt of the Telegraph believes leading striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic can now be pushed aside:
This is reiterated in Telegraph Sport's article, which states PSG are "keen" to sell the 33-year-old forward and that doing so "would lead to a move for Ronaldo." A potential cost of €125 million (£88.5 million) is outlined for the star's services.

United will only consider selling Di Maria if most of his £59.7 million fee is recouped, according to the aforementioned report. Both L'Equipe and Le Parisien suggest the Argentinian is a priority, tweeted by B/R UK's Jonathan Johnson:
PSG boss Laurent Blanc can now crack on with making the French club a dominant force on the European stage. Three consecutive Ligue 1 titles is all well and good, but like Manchester City in England, PSG's financial clout means they must aim for Champions League glory.
Ronaldo recently suggested he doesn't plan to leave the Bernabeu during the summer, reported by Portuguese newspaper A Bola (h/t Sky Sports): "I am very happy at the best club in the world and very focused and confident of a new season full of successes."

He netted 59 goals in all competitions for Madrid during 2014-15 and is one of the sport's two best players alongside Barcelona's Lionel Messi. Even though Ronaldo's all-round contribution lacked throughout the recently concluded campaign, he remains a prominent goalscorer.
New Blancos boss Rafa Benitez could move him from the left and into a No. 9 role next season, allowing him to focus purely on scoring. Blanc may salivate at the thought of doing the same, although that would be at the expense of Zlatan.
Di Maria was heavily linked with PSG before joining United last summer. "PSG, I think they had a money problem and they couldn't buy players," he told Telefoot (h/t Rory Keane of the MailOnline). "This is the main reason I didn't go there. Playing in the French league would please a lot of players."

The Argentinian struggled for consistency during his debut season in the Premier League. He often misplaced passes, overran the ball and failed to make the most of quality positions around the box. Yet his potential is highlighted by his three goals and 10 assists in 1,645 minutes of playing time, per WhoScored.com. A telling contribution every 127 minutes shows what he is capable of.
UEFA's lifting of restrictions will no doubt benefit PSG and the clubs from whom they buy. Madrid and United could hold the club to ransom for their top stars, although it appears unlikely either would be willing to sell.
This transfer window isn't going to be one of reasonable prices, something PSG will likely emphasise by spending lavishly on world-class talent.
