Super Bowl Odds Update: Packers New Favorites on NFL Betting Futures
Do the Green Bay Packers have the talent to get to Super Bowl 50 and pay off on the NFL futures in the upcoming season? Aaron Rodgers and company are the new 6-1 favorites on the updated Super Bowl 50 odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark
Rodgers was gimpy when he led Green Bay into Seattle to take on the defending NFC champion Seahawks last January and still nearly pulled off the upset victory. He went on to capture his second NFL MVP award in four years, although not winning the league’s ultimate prize and seeing the New England Patriots top Seattle in last year’s Super Bowl likely left a bitter taste in his mouth.

The Packers beat the Patriots during the regular season last year and might have been able to defeat them again had Rodgers been healthy.
New England is still awaiting a decision on the appeal filed by quarterback Tom Brady following the Deflategate scandal that resulted in him being punished with a four-game suspension. The Patriots are 9-1 to repeat as champs in 2016, currently also sitting behind the Seahawks (7-1) and Indianapolis Colts (8-1) on the betting board.
While New England’s offense remains intact for the most part outside of losing running back Shane Vereen via free agency, the defense will likely take a step back with starting cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner both leaving.
The Colts are expected to be the top competition for the Patriots in the AFC again this season, and they were involved in the infamous Deflategate game that was played for the AFC championship in Foxboro last January.
Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck has taken a positive step forward each year during his young pro career, and earning the best record to secure home-field advantage in the AFC could be exactly what his team needs to get over the hump.
Two other teams that should be in the mix for the Super Bowl this year are the Dallas Cowboys (10-1 on the Super Bowl odds) in the NFC and the Denver Broncos (12-1) in the AFC.
The Cowboys came close to knocking out Green Bay in the playoffs last season and must find a way to replace NFL leading rusher DeMarco Murray, who left for the rival Philadelphia Eagles (20-1) in the offseason.
Meanwhile, the Broncos fell at home to the Colts in last year’s playoffs and hope to make one more run with future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning at the helm.
