Giants Parade 2014: Twitter Reaction, Photos, Videos, GIFs and More

Adam WellsOct 31, 2014

For the third time in five years, fans have lined the streets of San Francisco to celebrate a Giants championship. The team had 48 hours to celebrate their win over Kansas City alone before partying with their fans.

Even though winning is old hat by now for the Giants in October, fans still turned out in droves to show their love, respect and appreciation. It's also comforting to see that some are able to enjoy a celebration in a cordial manner, which wasn't the case on Wednesday night.

To honor the Giants' title win and put a final bow on the 2014 Major League Baseball season, here are the best reactions, pictures, videos and moments from their celebration down Market Street.

What better place to kick things off than a pre-parade photo tweeted out by the Giants featuring radio announcer John Miller and WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan, whose "Yes!" chant served as a rallying cry for Hunter Pence:

It's only fitting that Pence would get his hands on the WWE title belt, which he seemed pretty excited about based on his own tweet:

Meanwhile, Bryan also took part in the parade and proceeded to lead the crowd in a "Yes!" chant, via MLB GIFs:

In a less tense version of their October mound visits, Buster Posey and Tim Hudson had their own separate buses that rode next to each other, via the Giants' official Twitter:

You can't talk about anything from this postseason without mentioning Madison Bumgarner. The left-hander was the icon everyone came to see, and he didn't disappoint by showing off his World Series MVP hardware, via MLB GIFs:

No Giants parade would be complete without an appearance from Lou Seal. The mascot led the celebration, carrying his own championship belt and doing his own "Yes!" chant, via MLB GIFs:

On the celebrity front, Metallica may be the best known band from the Bay Area, and its members have made no secret about their Giants fandom. The group tweeted out a picture from their float:

Of course, former Journey frontman Steve Perry was there to challenge Metallica's claim as the most famous musical artist/Giants fan, via MLB GIFs:

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports didn't have a witty remark about what the Giants accomplished, just respect and admiration for the franchise's success:

Whether the Giants meet your traditional criteria for a dynasty or not, it's hard to argue with a team that's won three championships in five years. The last MLB franchise to do that was the New York Yankees when they won four in five years from 1996-2001.

One of the big stories for the Giants this winter is Pablo Sandoval's free agency. He set a playoff record with 26 hits, but perhaps his biggest honor was having a panda float rolling down the streets of San Francisco, via Dave Brown of Yahoo Sports:

If you want a small glimpse at what the streets of San Francisco were like when celebrating a third championship in five years, MLB's Twitter feed has you covered:

Going back to Pence, who was arguably the man of the hour during this parade, the Giants' tweeted this Vine of the outfielder doing his thing:

Barry Bonds also took part in the parade and served as a pseudo-coach. He rode around in a custom Giants car, via David Stevenson of KTVU TV 2:

Bonds also took the time to post a video on his Instagram account as the parade was getting started:

All told, it may not have been a perfect day to celebrate in San Francisco due to the weather. There were drops of rain falling throughout the parade, but the team and fans didn't seem to give it much thought once things got underway.

The Giants are used to throwing a party considering all their recent success. Their fans didn't disappoint, as they turned out in big numbers. There's really no better way to celebrate Halloween than with a World Series championship.
