Tennessee Titans vs. Washington Redskins Betting Odds, Analysis, NFL Pick
As hard as it might be to believe, the Tennessee Titans are 5-0 both straight up and against the spread in their last five road games against NFC East foes. Meanwhile, the Washington Redskins, for all their problems, are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven home games against AFC South foes. The Titans tangle with the Redskins Sunday afternoon on the road.
Point spread: Redskins opened as four-point favorites; the total was 46 early in the week, according to sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark (line updates and matchup report).

Why the Titans can cover the spread
The Titans just picked up a much-needed win, beating Jacksonville at home 16-14, moving to 2-4 SU, garnering their first cover of the season. Tennessee got 61 yards on 18 carries from rookie running back Bishop Sankey, and Charlie Whitehurst, quarterbacking in place of the injured Jake Locker, hit on 17 of 28 throws for 233 yards and, most importantly, had zero interceptions.
It should have been a second consecutive victory for the Titans had they not blown that 25-point lead and lost to Cleveland two weeks ago. If they can get another good day from Sankey and limit the turnovers, they'll be right in this one.
Why the Redskins can cover the spread
The Redskins just gave the Cardinals a tough game out in Arizona, losing 30-20. Washington outgained Arizona 407-317 but committed four turnovers. The 'Skins scored with two minutes to go to pull within three points and got the ball back, but they lost the cover as five-point dogs when quarterback Kirk Cousins had his third pick of the day go the other way for a Cardinals touchdown.
Statistically speaking, Washington doesn't look too bad; the team ranks seventh in the league in total offense and 10th in total defense. Now, if the Redskins can just improve upon a league-worst minus-nine turnover margin, they might start winning some games.
Smart pick
Neither of these teams has done anything to inspire much confidence; bettors might be smart just to ignore this game. But in a contest that looks much more like a toss-up than the spread indicates, the wise choice would be to take the points and Tennessee.
