
UK Back Pages: Hodgson Defends 'Tired' Sterling, Lots of Praise for Rooney
England beat Estonia 1-0 in their European qualifier on Sunday night, but many of Monday's back pages decide to focus on a player who started on the bench.
Liverpool's Raheem Sterling opened himself up for criticism by reportedly telling England boss Roy Hodgson he was "too tired" to start.
Hodgson granted Sterling his request, and the attacking midfielder only came on in the 64th minute. Hodgson has now been forced to defend his decision:
