Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders' Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 2

Scott PolacekSep 14, 2014

Having Peyton Manning as your quarterback is gold for wide receivers, both on the actual field and in the fantasy football realm.

Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders owners certainly found that out again Sunday in the Denver Broncos' Week 2 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. Here is a look at their final stats:

Thomas scored a touchdown on an incredible one-handed catch, while Sanders led Denver in receiving yards Sunday. NFL on CBS highlighted Thomas’ ridiculous catch:

With Wes Welker currently missing time, Thomas and Sanders are sure to benefit. Behind Manning, the Broncos offense has record-setting potential (as we saw last year), which means the aerial show continues even without the slot weapon.

Thomas is as close to a sure thing as you can ask for in fantasy football, as he proved with more than 2,800 combined receiving yards in 2012 and 2013. However, Sanders’ emergence as a weapon is certainly good news for fantasy owners looking for the next breakout Denver star.

Sanders never topped 1,000 receiving yards in a season in Pittsburgh, but he also never had Manning throwing him the ball. With growing opportunities, he should continue to see his production steadily rise and is a solid WR3 with upside moving forward.
