Tampa Bay Rays Acquire INF Drew Sutton from Pittsburgh Pirates
Just one day after the Pittsburgh Pirates sent cash to the Atlanta Braves to acquire Drew Sutton, the Tampa Bay Rays have acquired Sutton for either a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Prior to Pittsburgh acquiring him, Sutton had been hitting .270 at Triple-A Gwinnett with 10 doubles, two triples and 15 RBI. He played mostly third base.
Sutton has appeared in the majors in parts of three seasons over the course of his professional career, including the Cincinnati Reds (2009-2010), the Cleveland Indians (2010) and the Boston Red Sox (2011).

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
He saw his highest level of success in Boston, posting a line of .315/.362/.444 in 31 games (54 at-bats).
He drove in seven runs and recorded seven doubles.
Primarily used as a defensive replacement, Sutton played all over the field for Boston. He never played right field or catcher but played all other positions quite well.
Sutton is expected to report to Tropicana Field in time for Monday night's game against Toronto, and he will likely replace Jeff Keppinger, who will likely be placed on the 15-day DL.
Keppinger was in a walking boot on Sunday after being hit by a foul ball in the dugout off the bat of Martin Prado.
Ironically, Sutton was traded from Houston to Cincinnati for Keppinger in 2009.
