Potential Solutions That Can Fix the Chicago Bulls Going Forward Part 1
The Bulls have been eliminated from the NBA Playoffs by the 76ers and now the soul searching will soon to begin.
For a team that started the season with championship aspirations, the tables have turned and now there will be a ton of soul searching to do.
Some will blame Bulls’ head coach Tom Thibodeau, as I did, while others will point out the jitters of C.J. Watson. Either way, the season has been a huge disappointment and it perhaps may rank up there with the most disappointing endings to a season in the history of Chicago sports.
It leaves me to ask the question of what does the Bulls need to improve on?
In the first of several suggestions that I will be discussing in the articles to come, I believe the Bulls must find a true point guard.
Derrick Rose is somewhat of a shooting guard because of his ability to get to the basket at will. It would better serve the Bulls if they pick up Andre Miller or Steve Nash.
Rose is going to miss much of the first half of the season and having a true point guard would allow coach Thibodeau to keep his rotation the same.
Ideally the Bulls could use a table-setter for their flex offense. They run tons of pick-and-roll basketball and a player like Miller or Nash could be that player.
If the Bulls cannot sign either player, I hope that they look at a few options on a smaller scale. Raymond Felton is a perfect description of that ideal point guard that may fit into the Bulls scheme.
Imagine a shiny new point guard to substitute for, then eventually, play alongside of a healthy Derrick Rose. I already have and it is glorious.
