Boston Red Sox: Reasons Why 2012 Ballclub Will Be Alright
This 2012 Red Sox team is going to be fine—better than fine, I believe.
Here are my reasons.
First, it is early. It is the first week in May, and the team has been whipped with injuries to several star players, including Kevin Youkilis, Jacoby Ellsbury, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Carl Crawford, Ryan Kalish and a Seattle Slew of other guys. By July many if not all of these exciting ballplayers will be back for the stretch run.

The second reason the Red Sox will be alright is because, well, it is early.
Yes, the Red Sox are in the cellar.
To this I say, "So what?!"
Again, it is the first week of May.
With the New York Yankees' recent pitching woes, the unlikely resurgence of the Baltimore Orioles and the always unpredictable nature of the Toronto Blue Jays, the AL East is going to be baseball’s black and blue division this season.
That said, with the rest of the American League just muddling along, there is good chance the AL East may boast three division teams in this year’s postseason (taking addition of an extra playoff spot). If the Red Sox can just hang around, the team may very well sneak into the postseason.
Blood pressure is falling…falling…falling, good.
Now, I will provide my third and final reason I think Boston is going to be alright.
No, I am not going to say, "It is early," this time.
But I will say the Red Sox are blessed to have prospect Jose Iglesias in their back pocket.
Your future magician of a shortstop will electrify the Red Sox nation once he can string together enough outstanding at-bats at Pawtucket to pound the door down in Boston.
And if indications mean anything, Iglesias is beginning to do just that.
So while I feel for Red Sox nation, while it grieves in the wake of an abysmal April by its own standards, the same should take solace in the aforesaid.
The Red Sox have plenty to play for, even though things may appear bleak right now.
