The Memphis Grizzlies look to get a win streak going again Thursday night when they play against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Both teams are coming off losses and are in dire need of a victory. The Clippers just lost to their archrival, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Grizzlies' seven-game win streak was ruined by the Portland Trail Blazers.
There's a good deal of talent in this game, which should get fans excited about this matchup. With both teams extremely hungry for a victory, expect a hard-fought game out west.
That being said, let's take a look at some specifics of this Western Conference showdown.

What's at Stake?
For the Clippers, they need to show that they can bounce back from a tough and emotional loss. The loss to the Lakers was very heated, but now the Clippers must turn around and focus on the task at hand, which is beating Memphis.
The elite teams know how to shake off a loss and get ready for the next game, so it's important that the Clippers execute across the board against Memphis.
For the Grizzlies, a win here would give them great confidence moving forward. They're struggling without Zach Randolph, and beating a very talented team like the Clippers would help them keep the wins coming.
What They're Saying
The Commercial Appeal reports that tonight's game is very special for different reasons.
"The Griz and Clippers will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the American Basketball Association's founding during the NBA Hardwood Classics series. The Griz will wear commemorative uniforms of the Memphis Tams and the Clippers will sport Los Angeles Stars attire.
As part of the season-long celebration, the Griz and Clippers will be one of nine teams along with Charlotte, Denver, Indiana, Miami, Minnesota, New Jersey and San Antonio to recognize the ABA anniversary by wearing commemorative uniforms.
"
This is a great gesture by the NBA, as it's always great to see throw back uniforms.
Look for the Grizzlies to be dawning some eye-popping green and yellow, and the Clippers to be wearing light blue and red.
Arash Markazi covers L.A. sports for ESPNLA.com, and he reports that Clippers VP of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey said Eric Bledsoe could make his return to the Clippers by Sunday.
"Eric has reached the point in his rehab where playing in a game setting is the final step in satisfying his return to play criteria, Neil Olshey said in a statement.
If he performs as expected for Joe Resendez, our assistant trainer, and Howard Eisley, our player development assistant, who will both accompany him on his assignment for the Jam’s next two games, we anticipate him rejoining our team for our trip to Denver this Saturday.
"
This is good news for the Clippers because Bledsoe is a solid young player.
He gives the Clippers a stronger bench, and having him healthy enough to play relieves stress from Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups.
The Denver Nuggets are a good team, and the Clippers will love having Bledsoe back on the team and ready to go.
Memphis Player to Watch
Marc Gasol is second on the team in scoring among active players, averaging 14 points per game. He also leads the Grizzlies with an average of 10 rebounds per game.
The Grizzlies will need Gasol to be on the top of his game tonight, especially on the defense. Blake Griffin went off on the Lakers Wednesday night, so Gasol will have to protect the paint.
Plus, Memphis needs Gasol to use his size advantage to help crash the boards and create second chances. If Gasol is off his game, the Grizzles don't stand a chance.
Los Angeles Player to Watch
Blake Griffin is always the guy to watch on the Clippers. Whether you're hoping to see electrifying dunks and alley-oops or just great basketball, keep your eyes fixed on Griffin.
The superstar forward leads the Clippers in scoring and in rebounding. Griffin averages 21 points and 11 rebound per game.
If the Clippers want to win easy, it's up to Griffin to make sure it happens. He's the star of the team, and these are the games the Clippers need him to step up and shut the opposing team down.
Key Matchup
Whichever team dominates in the paint will win this game. Neither squad brings down a lot of rebounds per game, but they are both good at shooting field goals.
The Grizzlies rank at No. 8 in the NBA in field goal percentage, whereas the Clippers rank at No. 12. However, the difference between the two teams is only .09.
If Griffin is able to go wild again in back-to-back nights, the Grizzlies will be doomed. But if Gasol, Marreese Speights and Rudy Gay step their game up, then Memphis can win.
Prediction
This will be a great game throughout, with both teams trading leads for most of the game.
In the end, I like the Clippers to win at home. They have more talent and star power, and they'll get the job done in front of the home crowd.
