3 Options the Broncos Must Consider If They Continue Building Around Tim Tebow
If the Denver Broncos plan on building their offensive roster around quarterback Tim Tebw—and it's likely they will despite a 45-10 loss in the AFC Divisional Round to the New England Patriots—they have some options to consider.
To successfully build an offense that has the best chance—again, no guarantees—at getting as close to a consistent offense as you can ask for in this gadget scheme, they must do the following three things:
1. Find a tight end

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It's an old cliche that applies even more now in this modern era of football: "A good tight end is a quarterback's best friend." We see guys like Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski and Vernon Davis impacting the game more from the tight end position than we've ever seen before.
And the simple fact of the matter is that the Broncos currently don't have a guy at that position they can count on. One of their top goals this offseason should be finding a guy who can consistently get open underneath so that Tebow has more easy throws to make over the course of a game.
2. Add more talent at running back
With Tebow running the show, the Broncos are going to remain a run-heavy, run-first offense. For that to ultimately succeed, the Broncos have to possess game-breaking players at the running back position.
They have a start in Willis McGahee, who ran for almost 1,200 yards this season. But he couldn't be counted on to stay healthy, and the depth behind him was lacking. Knowshon Moreno should return healthy in 2012, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Broncos went after an explosive running back early in the draft.
3. Need a Percy Harvin
This premise builds off the previous, but the Broncos need a player who can serve as that Percy Harvin role in this offense. Harvin was such a matchup nightmare at Florida, but the Broncos don't have any player even close to his skill set currently on the roster. To be fair, Harvin's skill set is hard to find, period.
But I think the Broncos would do well to find someone who can run the jet sweep, line up besides Tebow and run the belly option, and all the while be an equal threat as a slot and possession receiver. No easy task, but one the Broncos need to explore to make this college offense work in the NFL.
