Kansas City Chiefs: Agent Confirms Romeo Crennel Remains Coach with 3-Year Deal
The Kansas City Chiefs didn't have to look far to find their next head coach and, according to Adam Caplan, they have agreed to a three-year deal Romeo Crennel:
"The Kansas City Chiefs and Romeo Crennel have agreed to a 3-year deal for Crennel to become head coach, his agent, Joe Linta, confirmed.
"
The former Browns head coach went 2-1 this season after Todd Haley was fired and earned himself his second head coaching stint with wins over the Green Bay Packers and Denver Broncos - two teams still in the playoffs.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Crennel's run in Cleveland didn't end well, but he did turn in the club's best record since being brought back into the league in 1999 with a 10-6 record in 2007. They missed the playoffs that year though and he was ultimately fired one year later.
The 64-year-old has a long and storied career as an assistant coach and coordinator in the NFL, and has five Super Bowl Championships from his time with the New York Giants and New England Patriots.
It is no surprise that Crennel was brought back by Kansas City following his performance as interim coach.
His defensive mind helped the Chiefs yield only 33 points in the final three games including only 14 points to then-undefeated Green Bay Packers.
Crennel has a good relationship with Chiefs GM Scott Pioli as the two helped the Patriots and Bill Belichick win their three Super Bowl titles in New England.
This football team still has a lot of holes, but expect the Chiefs to be competitive for the AFC West immediately if they can get everyone back healthy and add a few pieces in the draft this offseason.
