When it comes to potential transfers, links with Spurs seem to keep cropping up and that’s the case again this week, with Carlo Cudicini.
Cudicini has already suggested this could be his last season at Stamford Bridge after nearly a decade at Chelsea.
The Italian has always struggled for games since the arrival of Petr Cech although has insisted it was “an important life choice” to remain at the club.
However, rumour now has it Harry Redknapp, who’s been told there’ll be money made available to him in January, could make a move for Cudicini when the transfer window opens.

Now whilst you can usually sift through the rumours and suss which ones have a bit of substance and which are complete rubbish, this particular one is a little harder.

You see, whilst the only evidence the press submit is the fact that Heurelho Gomes is pretty rubbish and Cudicini remains second choice behind Cech (neither of which can be disputed), we’ve also had whispers about Chelsea being keen on bringing in Giovanni Dos Santos.

So, with little to no money available to Scolari, the suggestion was a bit of bargaining would be on the cards and Wayne Bridge was touted as a potential candidate at the time.

The only trouble with that deal though was the fact that firstly, he only just signed a new contract in the summer so we wouldn’t be letting him go anywhere for peanuts and secondly, he’s pretty invaluable as a stand-in with Ashley Cole spending slightly more time than usual out injured.

The question is though, with only Hilario as a fall-back, would Chelsea really be prepared to let a keeper like Cudicini go in the middle of a season?
