Every football club's fanbase is given a lift when their idol steps up to the plate and delivers the goods. Liverpool Football Club boast one of the best fan bases in the world, and they too have some players that can really get them going, if you know what I mean.

From goalkeepers to forwards, every player has a chance of being crowned 'The Crowd Favourite'. In this list there is a player from every position, players with differing ages, appearances and styles of play.

Before we kick things off with No. 10, I'd just like to point out that this list consists of players that are currently in the Liverpool squad or coaching staff.

Enjoy your read.

7. Lucas Leiva

Lucas Leiva endured a painfully slow start to his Liverpool career, a career that has only kicked off very recently. For so long, Lucas underperformed and this rubbed off in a fairly steady flow of negative criticism.

However, his performance level increase was one of the only good things that came from Roy Hodgson's painfully short era as Liverpool manager, as he finally found his feet, and started sweeping opposition feet away.

Lucas's never say die attitude, coupled with a loyalty and willingness to tackle, have seen him become a crowd favourite.

6. Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez has made an impact that no one would have thought possible. Most South Americans take time adjusting to the pace of the Premier League, but 'El Pistolero' has adjusted in no time.

Scoring and making goals is a somewhat daily routine for the Uruguayan, who has lifted the Anfield crowd to their feet at least twice a game.

In fact, it's fair to say that the expectation levels are so high now, Liverpool fans expect Suarez to produce something magical more often than not.

The reason he is a crowd favourite is simple—he doesn't disappoint.

5. Pepe Reina

Pepe Reina's likeable nature and willingness to accept the challenges he faces on and off the pitch have given him an edge in his quest to win over the fans. His goalkeeping skills also help, as the Spaniard is, in my opinion, one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

His shot-stopping is brilliant, but his distribution is what makes him unique. He can start counter-attacks as well as proven midfield maestro's can, an ability that both teammates and fans alike appreciate.

If you asked me who I'd like to be captain when Gerrard retires, I'd say Reina without a shadow of doubt.

4. Dirk Kuyt

This picture sort of typifies the Dutchman's 'Always-on-the-move' style of play. He is always willing to give his all, a trait that football fans all over the world will recognise and appreciate.

Kuyt has also popped up with a considerable amount of Champions League goals, against Inter Milan or in Champions League finals.

He also upped his reputation as a Kopite with a hat-trick against bitter rivals Manchester United that Sir Alex Ferguson and Kenny Dalglish alike won't forget in a hurry.

3. Jamie Carragher

The stand in skipper at the moment, Jamie Carragher is the epitome of loyalty. He has been with the club through thick and thin, good times and bad. He has captained the side on many occasions when Gerrard has been absent, and he is always ready to put his body on the line.

I daresay it's quite bruised.

2. Steven Gerrard

Captain Fantastic. Mr. Liverpool. The Legend.

Steven Gerrard has been subject to many a flattering name during his time at Liverpool, which started at age nine. He rose through the ranks, never took "no" for an answer and has emerged as one of Liverpool's greatest players.

Lifting almost every trophy there is to win at club level, Gerrard is as experienced as it gets. Scoring over one hundred goals, Gerrard clearly has his ticket into Liverpool folklore.

1. Kenny Dalglish

That picture says it all.

Kenny Dalglish has taken Liverpool FC under his wing and has given them a real chance of future success. As a player, Kenny was epic. Guiding Liverpool to all sorts of honours.

As a manager too, he is very successful.

Liverpool means so much to the Scott and Vice Versa. There's not much more I can say about Liverpool FC's crowd favourite.
