Samir Nasri YouTube Tribute: The Frenchman's 10 Best Goals for Arsenal
Yes, it's official. Samir Nasri is gone.
After arriving at Arsenal in the summer of 2008 for a fee of ₤15.4 million, the Frenchman looks set to move to Manchester City.
City would more than double his salary of ₤90,000 a week and they have a good chance of winning trophies, something that Arsenal haven't been able to do in past years.
Nasri's moments at Arsenal were often fantastic. Nasri scored some great goals as a Gunner and is considered a fantastic player at the Emirates.
Hopefully he doesn't hold a grudge against Arsene Wenger and the club and will leave happily.
Here are Samir Nasri's best goals as a Gunner.
NOTE: Sorry! Some of Nasri's best goals aren't available in Bleacher Report's trusted partners, so I couldn't put some of the best ones.
10. Debut Goal
2 of 12This is a goal on Samir Nasri's Arsenal debut in August of 2008.
Sure, Nasri only finishes this goal, and it's not brilliant by him, but I'm sure his first goal as a Gunner will be a moment he will remember.
9. Bottom Corner
3 of 12This is a goal that the Frenchman scored against Tottenham in April of this year.
Nasri received the ball at the top of the box and struck it across his body into the bottom corner of the net, beyond the reach of Spurs keeper Gomes.
8. Lefty Power Strike (With a Deflection)
4 of 12This is a goal against Manchester United that took place in November of 2008.
Nasri received the ball at the top of the box, took a great touch and then smashed the ball with his left foot.
Though it was deflected by United's Gary Neville, it showed the power that Nasri could put on the ball, even with his wrong foot.
7. On the Volley (Skip to 0:26)
5 of 12Here is a goal that Nasri scored against Aston Villa in November of 2010.
Nasri gets the ball after Andrei Arshavin plays a corner and volleys it with his right foot into the goal. The ball bounces before landing in the back of the net, and it is deflected, too.
The good thing about this goal, though, is how cleanly Nasri struck it.
6. Turn and Shoot
6 of 12This one is scored by Nasri on New Year's Day in 2011 in a match against Birmingham.
Nasri plays a one-two-one-two with Cesc Fabregas and then turns. He does a couple of moves at the top of the box and strikes it into the bottom corner.
(It's hard to see the end, but you get the essence of it from the beginning.)
5. To the Roof! (Skip to 0:24)
7 of 12This is a goal that Nasri scored in October of last year against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League group stage.
After getting a cross from Alexandre Song, Nasri takes a beautiful touch to his left and then powerfully strikes the ball into the roof of the goal.
4. Pass, Pass, Pass...GOAL
8 of 12This is one that Samir scored against Manchester United in 2008; it was in the same game as in Slide 2.
After Arsenal make over 20 passes, Cesc Fabregas finds an opening where he dinks it to Nasri, who powers it past Edwin van der Sar.
Nasri has a great celebration in this one!
3. Fulham Part I
9 of 12This is a goal that Nasri scored in December of 2010 in a match against Fulham.
After receiving the ball from Andrei Arshavin, Nasri fakes out two defenders with the exact same move and finds himself in front of the goal. He then proceeds to smash the ball into the roof with his weaker left foot.
(Again, sorry about the bad quality, but you get the idea.)
2. Fulham Part II
10 of 12This is a goal in the same game as in the previous slide.
Upon getting the ball from Robin van Persie, Nasri flies by a defender, fakes out another with a scissor move, beats the goalie and, falling away, he hits it into the back of the net.
1. Wondergoal
11 of 12This is one of the great goals of all time. It took place in a Champions League match in March, 2010.
Nasri plays the ball to Diaby at the corner of the box and Diaby plays it back. Nasri beats three defenders at a time and continues to slot the ball into the side netting from an impossible angle.
What a fantastic goal!
Conclusion
12 of 12After seeing these goals and many others that he scored, you can't help but feel that Nasri is a fantastic player.
For all his moments at Arsenal—all the goals, all the assists, all the celebrations—we know one thing:
At Arsenal, Samir Nasri will be dearly missed.
