Arsenal fans had hoped that this would be a summer when their coach would finally pull the trigger, get some big signings and put an end to its trophy-less streak.
Instead, coach Wenger is spending his time fighting to keep the big name players he has.
There's no doubt that Wenger has created some of the most attractive, positive, fluid football in the Premier League. For top players, it's been a nurturing environment in which they can prove their worth.
But when those same players are at the top of their game and want to win trophies, they seem to be saying that's when it's time to move to one of the elite teams.
