The turbulent offseason of Inter continued today with the announcement by Team President Massimo Moratti that the star trio of Samuel Eto’o, Wesley Sneijder and Maicon will all return next year. However, the relief that Inter fans obtained through this news will surely only be temporary as transfer rumors change daily in the world of soccer.
For Inter, it will crucial to keep hold of all three of these players. If Inter is going to get the Scudetto back and return to elite status in Europe, they are going to need to bring in some more talent as well.
The first player that Inter should buy is Carlos Tevez.
Tevez is an immense talent and scored 20 goals last year in the Premier League, tying him for the most. In addition to that, Tevez always plays with great energy and leaves everything he has on the pitch, which has made him a fan favorite at every club he has been at.
However, Tevez is a gamble because of his combustible personality. He has had issues with the management at Manchester United and Manchester City. Due to the large contingency of Inter players from Argentina, I believe that he is much more likely to behave himself than at his previous two clubs.
Tevez would be a great addition to Inter and would provide them with a proven striker to pair up with Eto’o, which is something that they need desperately. Pandev and Milito only scored a combined total of seven goals in the Serie A last season. While, Giampaolo Pazzini did perform very well for the Nerazzurri, Tevez is a clear upgrade and a more reliable striker.
The other player that Inter should go after is Nani from Manchester United.
Nani has world-class speed and would add a whole different dimension to the team. His ability to move quickly down the flank is very important to stretch the defense and open up the field. Nani has proven to be a great crosser of the ball, and the Inter strikers would love to have him.
Nani has wonderful on the ball skills that he loves to show off. Besides his ability to create, he has shown some ability to finish in front of goal as well, scoring nine goals in league play last season.
All of these skills make a Nani a pain to defend against and would be a great signing for the Nerazzurri.
