Yosoof Farah's Top Five EPL Goals: Matchday Two
It has finally arrived. Yoosof Farah's top five goals of the EPL weekend. It was missing in matchday one, but it has returned for matchday two.
Here are my top five goals from the second round of matches in the EPL:
5) Ricardo Fuller, Stoke City vs Aston Villa
The Jamaican collected a pass from Liam Lawrence, and with a turn of pace, flicked the ball fantastically round Martin Laursen, breaking free from the Dane to allow himself the time and space to slot coolly past Brad Friedel and give Stoke a 2-1 lead.
4) Mido, Liverpool vs Middlesbrough
The Egyptian gave Boro the lead on 70 minutes, with a fantastic daisy cutter from 25 yards that completely beat goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
3) Keiran Richardson, Tottenham Hotspur vs Sunderland
After pouncing on a half-cleared ball from the Spurs defence, Richardson unleashed a belter of a shot from 25 yards that clipped just inside of the right post, giving Tottenham's Huerelho Gomes no chance. He was booked afterwards for his goal celebration.
2) Steven Gerrard, Liverpool vs Middlesbrough
A fantastic goal from the captain in injury-time to win it for Liverpool. With a draw seeming to be the case, captain Gerrard sees the ball pop in front of him and unleashes a fierce shot straight into the top corner, giving Ross Turnbull no chance in the Boro goal.
1) Anderson Deco, Wigan Athletic vs Chelsea
You just knew something would happen when Deco stepped up to take the free-kick. With only four minutes gone, Deco gave Chelsea the lead with an exquisite shot that rifled it's way into the top left-hand corner. Another great goal following his debut one against Pompey.
So there you are, my top five goals from the second round of matches in the Barclay's Premier League.
Do you agree or disagree with my selection? Are there other goals you think deserve to be in the top five?
Do you agree or disagree with the ranking of the goals? Does another goal deserve to be top instead of Deco's? Please feel free to leave a comment.
