German International Sami Khedira, formerly of Stuttgart has agreed to personal terms with Real Madrid and the two clubs announced the completion of his transfer moments ago.

Khedira, who joined Stuttgart as a 16 year old is off to chase his dreams at Real Madrid after an outstanding performance for the German National side in the FIFA World Cup.

The fee, reported to be in the area of 14 million Euros was not officially announced.

Khedira, who came through the Stuttgart Youth ranks made more than 100 appearances for the senior side and must have made quite an impression on new Real Madrid Manager Jose Mourinho during the World Cup. Of particular interest to Mourinho would have been the way in which the young German International stifled Argentina and Barcelona Super Star Lionel Messi in the German’s 4-0 victory.

Khedira is both an excellent ball winner and first time passer, his vision and perfectly paced passes were the key to Germany’s unstoppable counter attack.

Khedira will add a new dimension to Real Madrid.  Look for Sami to develop the chemistry he had with German Internationals Ozil, Klose, Schweinsteiger and Muller at Real Madrid. He is an excellent addition and Cristiano Ronaldo will benefit the most from Khedira’s signing.

Real Madrid has gotten a player on the rise that can win the ball in the midfield, play without the ball or create opportunities for his teammates.  Khedira’s ability to pass the ball quickly and accurately after winning it will open up loads of space on the flanks for Ronaldo and freshly signed Angel Di Maria to counter attack into.

The arms race at the top of La Liga just heated up; we will see how Barcelona responds to this news from Real Madrid.
