One of the many German youngsters who have impressed thus far in South Africa, Sami is no exception to the rest; he has played his part in taking Germany to the semifinals.

Next on the agenda for the Stuggart midfielder is to ensure a spot in the ultimate show piece, the World Cup final, set for Soccer City on Sunday evening.

Khedira has attracted interest from most of Europe's elite clubs, but with most interest coming from the Premiership.

Chelsea and Manchester United look like the two main clubs heading the list to land the German international.

Khedira could be snatched up for around £12 million, but that price could be inflated due to the huge interest. Another positive performance in Wednesday's semifinal could also be a determining factor.

With Paul Scholes in his last stretch, Ferguson will be looking for a possible replacement, Sami has shown great resilience in the center of midfield for Germany and no doubt Fergie will have his scouts in Durban on Wednesday.

Scholes was instrumental in United's attempt to defend the title; although they failed in doing so, Scholes's presence is a major contribution on its own.

Many would say that it would be tough to fill the gap he would leave, but looking ahead, Khadira could in time grow to become a great player whether he signs with United, Chelsea, or any other team.

The other issue on the table is that his contract expires at the end of next season, and with so much interest Stuggart can't afford to lose him on a free transfer, which leaves them to the only option: sell him now while they can earn a couple of bucks.
