The Popularity Of American Futbol

The Fifa World Cup is very exciting, full of passion and dedication for each others home land. Here in the United States it is very exciting after a Goal by U.S national Star Landon Donavan against Algeria in stoppage time in a dramatic finish and winning group c first group win since 1930.

Now this is where the game really begins out of the group play and into the knock-out stage, The thing is that here in the U.S soccer has never been a premier sport it's fun  now cause your local Irish Bar, American pub down the street is opening up very early and it's a chance to get drunk or feeling nice (How ever you like to say it).

After July 11th willing the U.S makes it that far The fans and the passion that is coming out of every one of us will not be there it will be a mere memory of a team that made us proud in a sport that we cannot dominate what so ever. The U.S has made to the top 16 teams facing Ghana in the first match.

People of the U.S will go back to ignoring the sport and what little bit of coverage it gets it will never stand up to its competition in National Football League or the National Basketball Association in the United States and its a shame Soccer is a sport that is great to watch and to play.

The Friday night the U.S played Slovenia I got a chance to talk to a big soccer fan and he said " I love Soccer but when it comes to football, cant wait for sundays" that just say's it's liked but not loved. I don't know if it is because we are from a nation of domination and we cant stand to be underdogs in every match that turns us off!

Bottom line is if this Country was to put in enough effort and funding to the youth and put in enough time like we do with Baseball and Football we would and will dominate this sport and we will win The Fifa World Cup.
