Is Adebayor Frustrated at Arsenal?
Emmanuel Adebayor has shocked Arsenal by claiming they should be doing far more to convince him to stay at the Emirates.
Arsenal insist the player, whose future has been speculated on throughout the summer, is not for sale and have already rejected a £24 million bid from Spanish side Barcelona.
They have also squeezed AC Milan out of the running, after the Italians claimed Arsenal want £35 million for the Togo international.
Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani said: "Bids of £35 million are impossible for Italian clubs, which is why the top players don't come here anymore."
With both clubs potentially out of the running, Adebayor feels that Arsenal are doing very little to make him feel wanted for next season.
He has been offered a new £45,000-a-week deal to stay, but Adebayor's agent, Stephane Courbis, says this has not changed the 24-year-old's feelings.
"It is vital for Arsenal show their motivation to keep him," Courbis said.
"If this was a money problem, then he would have asked to leave. He is a man of heart not of money. He is not greedy, he is a kid from the street, has sensibilities and is humble.
"I know that Arsenal's political position is that they don't pay high salaries.
"There has been a love story between Adebayor and Arsenal and his relationship with Arsene Wenger is based on trust and respect," Courbis said.
Adebayor signed for Arsenal in 2006 from Monaco. He was the second highest goalscorer last season with 30 goals and was named in the PFA Team of the Year.
If he were to leave, Wenger has been eyeing up Zenit St Petersburg's Andrei Arshavin and Blackburn's Roque Santa Cruz as possible replacements.
Reports suggested Adebayor had a long talk with French forward Theirry Henry and the latter has reportedly urged Adebayor to quit Arsenal saying, "It is best for your future."
