A win for United will seal second place in the Premier League, while the Seagulls can hit 40 points if they come away with a victory.

Brighton should be secure from relegation on their tally of 37, but reaching that threshold would be an impressive achievement for the promoted side.

Per Tom Dutton of the Evening Standard, Romelu Lukaku is a doubt for the clash after he was withdrawn after 50 minutes against Arsenal on Sunday with an ankle injury.

The Belgium international consequently had a scan and may not be risked given United will be involved in the FA Cup final on May 19.

Brighton will be able to call on Davy Propper again after he has completed his three-match ban for his red card against Huddersfield Town on April 7.

Following their 2-1 win over Arsenal last time out, United can finish on 86 points if they win their three remaining matches, which would have been enough to win the league outright or tie for the lead on 11 occasions in the Premier League era.

While the Red Devils are still a work in progress under manager Jose Mourinho, achieving that tally would show a significant improvement on last year's 69 points, which was only enough for sixth.

The win also ensured United have beaten each of their top-six rivals in either the Premier League or the FA Cup since their victory against Chelsea on February 25.

Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News was not overly impressed with their showing against the Gunners, though:

They will need to step it up a notch to ensure they come away with three points on Friday, and their players will also want to spend the next three games cementing a place in the starting lineup for the FA Cup final. As such, they can ill afford to relax in the coming weeks.

He will need to take any opportunities he's given in the coming weeks if he's to secure a place on the teamsheet against Chelsea on May 19.

Brighton have scored just 32 league goals this season, but they grabbed a draw at home to Tottenham Hotspur on April 17 and beat Arsenal in March, so they are capable of picking up impressive points at the Amex.

Their defensive record is bettered only by those of Burnley and Newcastle United outside the division's top five too, so United can't afford to have an off day in the final third.
