Sunday Recap
Barcelona were completely dominant for the majority of the game against Espanyol.
Suarez's opener in the 18th minute was as much about Andres Iniesta's assist as it was about the finish.
The Spanish veteran floated an inch-perfect ball over the Espanyol defence for the onrushing Suarez to fire into the far corner to put Barca ahead.
Suarez and Iniesta's delightful combinations were a feature of the opening 45 minutes, with the latter running the show in the middle of the park, per OptaJose:
The second half was then all about Messi, whose magical skill led to Barca's second and third goals.
Iniesta was involved again as Barca went 2-0 up 23 minutes from time as he found Messi on the right edge of the box after some excellent footwork.
The Argentinian then beat four Espanyol defenders and fired at goal, Suarez turning in the rebound when replacement Espanyol goalkeeper Roberto could only parry Messi's effort.
Some more mesmerising dribbling from Messi led to Barca's third two minutes later. He again beat four opponents as he skipped into the box before putting it on a plate for Alba to finish, a rare league goal for the left-back, per Sky Sports Statto:
Espanyol's consolation 11 minutes from time was fairly sumptuous as well as Lopez finished a flowing move with an excellent finish from 12 yards.
But there was to be no dramatic comeback, and Barca ran out easy winners, with Messi himself getting his own goal as he nutmegged Roberto in the final minute after a fine one-two with Suarez.
Depor went into Sunday's home clash on Sunday in desperate need of a win in order to move themselves away from the relegation zone.
With Osasuna having won just one league game so far in 2016/17, the hosts were favourites, and it was two first-half goals that handed them a victory.
Florin Andone, so excellent in Depor's recent 5-1 drubbing of Real Sociedad, netted the opener after just seven minutes for his sixth goal in as many matches, per OptaJose:
Ryan Babel then headed in Depor's second three minutes ahead of the break, and the three points gained moved them into 15th, while Osasuna remain rock bottom of the standings.
Leganes enjoyed mixed fortunes in the first half of their clash with Eibar. Miguel Angel Guerrero put them 1-0 ahead in the 23rd minute, but just three minutes later, goalkeeper Iago Herrerin was shown a straight red card after a challenge on winger Takashi Inui.
Leganes managed to hold their lead until the 76th minute, but Eibar then snatched a point thanks to Bebe's strike.
