Southampton and Liverpool have built up quite the connection over the last few years, with numerous former Saints stars now plying their trade at Anfield. The likes of Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren will relish the opportunity of lining up against their old team-mates.

Per Joe.co.uk's Tony Barrett, the two teams also have some history at this stage of the competition:

The draw also means a final between old rivals Liverpool and Manchester United is a possibility, something neutral fans and television executives will be most pleased with.

Per Mick Gadd of the Daily Mirror, United manager Jose Mourinho expects Hullwho reached the 2014 FA Cup final at Wembleyto be motivated:

"

I was calm with the draw, if the teams arrive here, it’s because they put a lot on the competition.

I am sure Hull has an amazing memory from Wembley and they are going to try everything to be there.

Man U were there last season in August and they are used to being back in Wembley on regular occasion. Now we forget this semi-final.

"

The Red Devils haven't enjoyed a great start to the Premier League season, but they've more than held their own in the EFL Cup. The trophy now provides Mourinho with his best chance of grabbing some silverware during his debut campaign, with just a few more results needed.
