
Lionel Messi, Neymar Headline 2016 FIFA Puskas Award Nominees
Barcelona superstars Lionel Messi and Neymar have been shortlisted for the 2016 FIFA Puskas Award, recognising the best goal of the year.
ESPN FC passed along an announcement from FIFA on Monday noting the Blaugrana pair will be considered for this year's accolade after two stunning strikes.
Messi's free-kick in Argentina's last-four victory over United States in the Copa America was deemed worthy of a nomination, as was Neymar's stunning flick and volley for his club against Villarreal.
The iconic talents join eight others on the 10-player shortlist, all vying for the award that recognises the most beautiful strike of the past 12 months.
