Recap

Mourinho's first match at Stamford Bridge as the Red Devils boss didn't go exactly as planned, as Chelsea outplayed his side in every facet of the game.

The Blues took an early lead after Marcos Alonso dropped a lovely pass in behind the defence, and Pedro easily rounded goalkeeper David De Gea, who came off his line far too aggressively.

Per OptaJoe, Pedro set a new mark for the fastest Premier League goal this season:

Gary Cahill made it 2-0 after 21 minutes following another defensive blunder, blasting home from close range as the Red Devils couldn't deal with a corner.

The match could have taken a dramatic turn just before half-time, as David Luiz planted his studs on the knee of Marouane Fellaini but didn't receive his marching orders.

Yahoo Sports' Liam Canning thought it was a poor decision from the official:

Instead, Chelsea continued with 11 men and added goals through Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante after the break.

Per Bleacher Report UK, the home fans had some fun at the expense of their former manager:

Southampton held the Citizens to a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium, with Kelechi Iheanacho and Nathan Redmond taking care of the scoring.

The latter gave the visitors the lead after 27 minutes, taking advantage of a defensive blunder. John Stones all but gifted the youngster the goal, and his tendency of giving up cheap goals is becoming an issue, according to WhoScored.com:

Pep Guardiola weighed in on the mistake after the match, per Sky Football:

All eyes were on Sergio Aguero, who Guardiola had left on the bench for the UEFA Champions League clash with Barcelona, and while the Argentinian did start on Sunday, it was the Citizens' other top striker who equalised.

Iheanacho found the back of the net in the second half, and his latest goal only added to this impressive statistic, per OptaJoe:

City failed to find a late winner, however, and are now winless in their last three Premier League matches. Guardiola's troops are suffering through a major stretch of poor form and need to turn things around in a hurry.
