Recap
Jack Roles opened the scoring for Spurs inside 20 minutes. It was a lead the north London club held until Jakub Bednarczyk equalised just shy of the hour mark.
Leverkusen then seized the initiative and were soon in front on a Tottenham own goal in the 67th minute. Gloss was added to the score when Tim Handwerker tucked home a penalty in injury time.

Tottenham remain rooted to the bottom of Group E. However, the other representative from England's Premier League enjoyed the day.
Layton Ndukwu scored twice to help the Foxes beat Copenhagen on home soil. The 17-year-old English midfield gem made it 3-1 to City in the 66th minute, but the Copenhagen squad was far from done.
The Danes had played with 10 men since the 19th minute after goalkeeper Filip Djukic was shown a straight red card. It came at a time when Copenhagen had the lead thanks to Nicklas Rojkjaer's early finish.
Leicester got back on terms when defender Alexandru Pascanu hit a splendid strike in first-half stoppage time. The Foxes' official site relayed a snap of the 18-year-old celebrating his emphatic effort:
There was also joy for Jonas Wind when the teenage forward slotted home the away side's second to ensure a nervy finish. But Leicester clung on to get off the mark in Group G.
It's a group currently dominated by Porto, after Rui Pedro bagged a brace to beat Club Brugge in Belgium and continue a perfect start.
Franchu and Dani Gomez had given Los Blancos a 2-1 lead against Legia before Mateusz Bondarenko scored his team's equaliser, a goal that seemed to make sure of a point for the Polish club. At least it did until Szymanski turned into his own net with less than 15 minutes remaining.
Real now hold a commanding lead in Group F after Sporting Lisbon and Borussia Dortmund could only manage a 1-1 draw.

Luca Clemenza came off the bench to score the third goal for Juventus in Lyon. Juve had already gotten goals from French attacker Mehdi Leris and Fabrizio Caligara.
The Italian outfit now tops Group H on goal difference thanks to Sevilla scoring four times away to Dinamo Zagreb. Ruben Colmenero netted a hat-trick for the Spanish side in just his second appearance in this season's tournament.
Sevilla weren't the day's big winners, though. Instead, the honour belonged to CSKA Moscow after a 4-1 win over AS Monaco in Group E.
Timur Zhamaletdinov added his second and third goals in the competition, while fellow forward Fedor Chalov scored CSKA's fourth a minute from time. The Russian team has laid down a marker after usurping the previous group leaders so emphatically.
Of course, CSKA's night was made better by Tottenham's late reversal in Germany.
