Premier League Table: Results, Updated Standings from Sunday's Week 6 Matches
West Ham United remain 18th in the Premier League table after a 3-0 home defeat against Southampton on Sunday. It's the Hammers' fifth league defeat of the season, and the third in all competitions at their new London Stadium.
Yet, while the Hammers are suffering, the Saints are enjoying a terrific run under new manager Claude Puel. Goals from Charlie Austin, Dusan Tadic and James Ward-Prowse moved them into ninth place, just four points out of the top six.
Here are the updated standings after Sunday:

Recap
Life in their new home isn't suiting the Hammers. But it would be too easy to put all their woes on the London Stadium.
In truth, this team hasn't been enjoying itself regardless of the venue, per Squawka:
Still, failures to score have at least been something of a rarity for the Hammers, according to the same source:
Problems up front have come at the worse time for West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, who was already dealing with a myriad of issues at the back.
Nobody has conceded more goals than these Hammers, who have now been breached 16 times in the league, per the division's official site. Austin was the first on the sheet for the Saints, before the impressive Tadic finished a slick counter with a flourish.
His goal meant it's been nearly three decades since West Ham were this generous defensively, according to BBC Match of the Day:
What's most troubling is how familiar figures have found it tough to avoid mistakes. Defenders such as Winston Reid and Angelo Ogbonna have been far from the stable performers they were for the first half of last season.
It doesn't help that the cast of characters around them keeps changing. The preseason injury to Aaron Cresswell has wrecked their full-back options.
Bilic started summer signings Havard Nordtveit and Alvaro Arbeloa against the Saints. For one-time Liverpool man Arbeloa, it meant a first Premier League outing in a long while, per BBC Sport:
But the 33-year-old ex-Real Madrid defender's experience has done nothing to solidify the West Ham rearguard. Bilic must envy the defensive resolve Southampton showed off in East London.
Centre-back Virgil van Dijk was the cornerstone of their miserly approach. The stout Dutchman has created a formidable partnership with towering Portuguese veteran Jose Fonte.
The pair are intelligent and dominant in the air. Yet, it's former Celtic star Van Dijk who is emerging as the Saints' most influential defender.
He proved to be the vital last line of defence against the Hammers:
However, it's not just Van Dijk and the back four who are thriving. The group is also receiving ample support from a balanced, energetic and well-drilled midfield.
Steven Davis is still an underrated box-to-box asset, but it is holding player Oriol Romeu who is starting to stand out. His screening meant West Ham found it hard to even fashion scoring chances.
In fact, the Hammers couldn't work goalkeeper Fraser Forster in the first half:
The Saints are on the march, but the top of the standings have a familiar look. Unbeaten Manchester City have been irresistible going forward through six games.
Tottenham have been more pragmatic, but they are finding other match-winners, attackers such as Son Heung-min, the two-goal hero against Middlesbrough on Saturday. Spurs are becoming less reliant on centre-forward Harry Kane.
North London rivals Arsenal may be flipping the script after Alexis Sanchez led the 3-0 demolition of Chelsea. The Chilean is slowly, slowly beginning to look comfortable at centre-forward. It's great news for a Gunners squad that has been lacking a talisman up top for too long.
At the moment, City are the team to beat, but there are plenty of other interesting stories developing behind the leaders. Southampton's subtle rise and West Ham's surprise collapse are among them.
