MLS Player Rankings: LA Galaxy Stars Dominate Top 2, Morris, Drogba Move Up List
The LA Galaxy attack has lived up to its potential in Major League Soccer over the last month as Bruce Arena's side has found the back of the net on 14 occasions since April 15.
It comes as no surprise that two of the Galaxy's stars find themselves in the top two positions in our weekly Bleacher Report MLS Player Rankings.
Choosing the correct spot for each player on the list was a difficult task this week as nine of the top 10 and 15 of the top 20 recorded either a goal or an assist in Week 10.
Our rankings take into account the last four games individuals participated in, with the most recent match holding the most importance.

On the Way out
1 of 21
Injuries and lack of production forced these four players out of the top 20 after Week 10.
Players Dropped out of Rankings
Joao Plata (Real Salt Lake; Previous Ranking: 9)
Kaka (Orlando City; 10)
Shkelzen Gashi (Colorado Rapids; 17)
Cyle Larin (Orlando City; 19)
20. Chris Pontius, LM, Philadelphia Union
2 of 21
Previous Ranking: 16
Chris Pontius was unable to add to his season totals in Week 10 because of Philadelphia's bye week.
The 28-year-old, who has scored in two consecutive matches, will take to the field twice in Week 11 against the LA Galaxy and Montreal Impact.
Pontius scored against the Galaxy as a member of D.C. United in 2015.
19. Andre Blake, GK, Philadelphia Union
3 of 21
Previous Ranking: 13
The six-spot drop of Andre Blake this week was caused by Philadelphia's bye week and impressive performances from those ahead of him who were in action in Week 10.
The Jamaica international has faced one of his club's two Week 11 opponents in the past. He earned a shutout against Montreal in 2015. Blake has not faced the Galaxy in his MLS career.
18. Axel Sjoberg, CB, Colorado Rapids
4 of 21
Previous Ranking: Not Ranked
The Colorado Rapids continued their fantastic start to the season on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake.
One of the reasons why the Rapids have been so successful is the play of their back line led by Axel Sjoberg.
The Rapids have put together the best defensive record in the Western Conference thanks to the contributions of the 23-year-old, who ranks fourth in the league in clearances per game.
17. Dominic Oduro, RM, Montreal Impact
5 of 21
Previous Ranking: Not Ranked
Dominic Oduro was one of three key figures in attack who helped Montreal recover from a three-goal deficit on Saturday to force a 4-4 draw with Columbus.
The former Columbus player recorded a goal and an assist alongside Ignacio Piatti and Didier Drogba during the comeback at Mapfre Stadium.
The 30-year-old winger, who has enjoyed a splendid first few weeks of 2016, has four goals and four assists in 2016.
16. Khiry Shelton, FW, New York City FC
6 of 21
Previous Ranking: Not Ranked
New York City FC receives a lot of criticism that David Villa is the club's only option in attack, but Patrick Vieira's men disproved that theory on Sunday.
Khiry Shelton showed just how dangerous the supporting cast around Villa can be in NYCFC's 2-0 win over D.C. United as he played a role in both tallies.
Over the last three games, the 22-year-old American has provided the second-year side with a goal and three assists.
15. Clint Irwin, GK, Toronto FC
7 of 21
Previous Ranking: 20
Clint Irwin and Toronto FC opened the renovated BMO Field with a 1-0 win over FC Dallas on Saturday night.
The 27-year-old netminder made three saves in his fourth clean sheet of the season.
Irwin and the improved Toronto back line have put together the best defensive record in MLS through 10 weeks as they have let in seven goals.
14. C.J. Sapong, FW, Philadelphia Union
8 of 21
Previous Ranking: 11
The third member of the Philadelphia Union to fall a few places this week because of the bye week is forward C.J. Sapong.
The 27-year-old enters Week 11 with two goals and one assist in his last four starts. The American striker will have his hands full over the next few days as he deals with Jelle van Damme and Laurent Ciman in two straight matches.
13. Osvaldo Alonso, CM, Seattle Sounders
9 of 21
Previous Ranking: 15
Osvaldo Alonso produced another solid showing in front of the Seattle Sounders back four in their 2-0 win over San Jose.
The 30-year-old again led the Sounders in touches and recorded a pass-completion rate of 90 percent.
The native of Cuba is sixth in MLS in tackles per game, and he leads the league in pass-success percentage among first-team regulars.
12. Kei Kamara, FW, Columbus Crew
10 of 21
Previous Ranking: Not Ranked
It's taken a while for Kei Kamara to heat up in front of the net this season, but he's finally rounding into form.
Before everything fell apart for the Crew on Saturday, the Sierra Leone international bagged a first-half brace at Mapfre Stadium.
The 31-year-old, who fought with Sebastian Giovinco for the Golden Boot last season, has scored four of his five tallies in the last four contests.
11. Jermaine Jones, CM, Colorado Rapids
11 of 21
Previous Ranking: 14
The Rapids reaped yet another reward from the Jermaine Jones attacking experiment in Week 10.
Jones, who has adjusted to the No. 10 role with ease, displayed the technique of a natural forward on his 47th-minute goal against Real Salt Lake on Saturday.
Since returning from his six-game suspension, the 34-year-old has three goals and two assists.
10. Chris Wondolowski, FW, San Jose Earthquakes
12 of 21
Previous Ranking: 4
Chris Wondolowski struggled in front of goal for the second straight match as he failed to put a shot on target in San Jose's loss to Seattle.
The 33-year-old had a chance to score in the 84th minute, but he struck a poorly taken penalty off the left post. A few minutes later, Seattle secured the victory with its second goal.
The United States international will look to get back on the scoresheet on Wednesday, when San Jose hosts the Houston Dynamo.
9. Ignacio Piatti, CM, Montreal Impact
13 of 21
Previous Ranking: 18
A two-goal performance goes a long way in boosting your stock on this list.
Ignacio Piatti broke a four-game scoreless run with a brace in the thrilling eight-goal affair with the Crew.
The 31-year-old also recorded his first shot on goal in four matches on Saturday.
Despite his lack of activity on the stat sheet, Piatti's presence has opened up space for Drogba over the last month.
8. Fanendo Adi, FW, Portland Timbers
14 of 21
Previous Ranking: 2
To remain near the top of this chart, you have to score.
The reason for Fanendo Adi's six-spot drop is that simple, as the owner of seven goals in 2016 failed to produce a tally in Portland's 2-1 loss to Vancouver.
The 25-year-old was credited with an assist on Portland's lone strike, but he wasn't as active in the final third as the seven players above him were in Week 10.
7. David Villa, FW, New York City FC
15 of 21
Previous Ranking: 12
David Villa scored in consecutive matches for the first time in 2016, as he notched the opener in NYCFC's road win over D.C. United.
Sunday also marked the first one-goal performance from the Spaniard, who has a trio of braces through 10 weeks.
The 35-year-old is tied with Adi and Wondolowski atop the Golden Boot standings with seven goals.
6. Sacha Kljestan, CM, New York Red Bulls
16 of 21
Previous Ranking: 6
Sacha Kljestan continued to gain separation from everyone below him on the league assist chart as he dished out his sixth helper of the season on Friday night.
The 30-year-old, who contributed to the New York Red Bulls' lone goal in the 1-1 draw with Orlando City, has two more assists than anyone else in MLS.
Over the last four weeks, Kljestan has played a role in six of the Red Bulls' nine scores.
5. Didier Drogba, FW, Montreal Impact
17 of 21
Previous Ranking: 8
We're used to seeing Didier Drogba in a scoring role, but on Saturday he shifted into a provider for his teammates in the comeback against the Crew.
The former Chelsea man helped to set up Piatti's tally in the 26th minute and the game-tying goal recorded by Oduro in the 93rd minute. In addition to helping out his teammates, the Ivorian scored from the spot in the 57th minute.
The 38-year-old has contributed to at least one Impact strike in four of his last five matches.
4. Jordan Morris, FW, Seattle Sounders
18 of 21
Previous Ranking: 7
No one can stop Jordan Morris from scoring at the moment.
The 21-year-old found the back of the net for the fourth straight match in Seattle's fourth victory of the season on Saturday night. The United States international also recorded the first assist of his MLS career on Clint Dempsey's opener.
During Morris' four-game scoring run, the Sounders have earned nine points out of a possible 12.
3. Sebastian Giovinco, FW, Toronto FC
19 of 21
Previous Ranking: 3
Sebastian Giovinco did everything but score a goal in Toronto's home opener on Saturday night.
The Atomic Ant dished out an assist on the lone tally netted by rookie Tsubasa Endoh, and he attempted 10 shots in the 1-0 win over FC Dallas.
Giovinco is currently the only player in MLS who has contributed to 10 goals in 2016.
2. Gyasi Zardes, FW, LA Galaxy
20 of 21
Previous Ranking: 5
The stars in the LA Galaxy attack displayed plenty of chemistry during the first half of the 4-2 win over New England on Sunday.
Gyasi Zardes thrived in the role of provider as he took advantage of poor defending by the Revolution to hand out assists on each of Robbie Keane's first-half goals.
During the Galaxy's recent four-game scoring spurt, the United States international has contributed to six of the club's 14 strikes.
1. Giovani Dos Santos, FW, LA Galaxy
21 of 21
Previous Ranking: 1
Giovani dos Santos is currently the main attraction in the LA Galaxy attack.
That may change over time with Keane back in the lineup, but the Mexico international has kept himself in the spotlight since the April 15 win over Houston.
For the third time in the last four weeks, dos Santos earned at least one goal and one assist for Bruce Arena's side.
If that production extends into the next month, the 27-year-old could be one of the top scorers at the Copa America Centenario.
