Premier League Table: Week 17 Standings, Full Weekend Recap After Sunday's Score

Liverpool crashed to a humiliating 3-0 defeat at Watford, as they spurned the chance to close the gap on the top four in the Premier League on Sunday.

Hornets striker Odion Ighalo was once again the difference, as he struck twice to pour the misery on coach Jurgen Klopp and his side.

Swansea City and West Ham United drew 0-0 in South Wales in an arduous affair, as both teams failed to show the ambition needed to take a win from the tie.

Swansea and West Ham played out an uneventful goalless draw at the Liberty Stadium, as neither side could pull the trigger on Sunday. The prospect of relegation is now very real for the Swans, who are in free fall in the bottom three of the division.

Ki Sung-yueng went closest for the hosts as they struggled to create, as the Hammers shut the door on their best work in the first half.

The second half was much the same, as Ki almost grabbed a winner on the hour-mark, but the match always looked destined for a 0-0 draw.

Klopp will be licking his wounds after watching his Liverpool side collapse on Sunday, as they were humbled 3-0 by a ruthless Watford outfit.

The game started in the worst possible way for the Reds as stand-in goalkeeper Adam Bogdan dropped the ball and presented a chance to Nathan Ake, who tapped home.

It was soon 2-0 as Liverpool's midfield went missing, allowing Man of the Match Troy Deeney to find Ighalo, who finished in style from an acute angle.

Klopp gambled late in the game as he threw on Christian Benteke into his attack, but it was the hosts who completed their perfect day, as Ighalo grabbed his second shortly before the end.

Leicester City's fairy tale continued after they defeated Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park on Saturday. Two penalties from Riyad Mahrez helped the Foxes to the win, and they will now be placed as England's top side on Christmas Day.

Chelsea got back to winning ways in their first match without Jose Mourinho at the helm, beating Sunderland 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. Goals from Branislav Ivanovic, Oscar and Pedro sealed the victory for the fallen league champions, as new interim boss Guus Hiddink watched on from the stands.

BBC Sport's Phil McNulty commented on the atmosphere at the Bridge:

Manchester United failed to overcome the threat of Norwich City at Old Trafford, as the woes continue for manager Louis van Gaal, who witnessed his team lose 2-1. Two counter-attacks ripped United to shreds, leading to goals from Alexander Tettey and Cameron Jerome, giving the Canaries the three points.

Dele Alli and Harry Kane maintained their excellent form for Tottenham Hotspur this season, as the England internationals netted in a 2-0 win away at Southampton.

The victory takes Spurs into the top four, as they leapfrog United.

Crystal Palace continued to prove a formidable away side and beat Stoke City 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium. Connor Wickham scored his first goal for the Eagles, as Lee Chung-yong netted to give Alan Pardew more success on the road.

In Saturday's other matches, Newcastle United and Aston Villa shared the points in a 1-1 draw at St. James' Park, while Bournemouth defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at the Hawthorns.
