Jose Mourinho Speaks out on Arsene Wenger, Arsenal's Place in EPL Table Race
Jose Mourinho just can't resist the chance to take a shot at Arsene Wenger.
The Chelsea manager, whose feud with Arsenal's boss has become quite famous at this point, reignited the war of words on Sunday.
"I do not understand why they [Arsenal] are not where we are with Man City," Mourinho told the Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday program, via ESPN. "He has a dream job. I think every manager in the world would like to have the stability he has. Year after year after year, he has the chance to buy, to sell, to rebuild, to wait for success and wait and wait."

The Gunners are currently third on the Premier League table, 12 points back of leaders Chelsea and seven back of Manchester City. Arsenal finally broke an eight-year trophy drought last season with an FA Cup triumph, a wait that Mourinho clearly doesn't think most managers would have been afforded at a club of Arsenal's size.
Or perhaps he simply saw a way to needle his nemesis and took it.
He was a bit kinder in some of his other remarks, though he managed to twist even them to suggest that Wenger should be doing better with the tools he currently has in place:
"What he did with the club in a certain period gave him that credibility, that he deserves because he is a fantastic manager but he also had a fantastic situation to be successful.
When I look at the players and I look at the squad, I really think they have to win. I like that team very much, they have very good players. Alexis [Sanchez] and [Danny] Welbeck are important players to add to an already very good squad.
"
It's interesting timing from Mourinho, as the Champions League knockout phase begins this week and Arsenal are set to face Monaco, the club Wenger once managed. Perhaps Mourinho couldn't resist the temptation to provide the Arsenal manager with a bit of distraction ahead of Wednesday's key clash.
Or perhaps Mourinho is playing the long game, looking to sully Wenger's reputation in the eyes of prospective transfers so they'll prefer making the move to Chelsea rather than Arsenal.
Or, most likely, Mourinho simply enjoys antagonizing Wenger.
