After starting his second campaign in England with a flourish, Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic could be set for another frustrating spell on the sidelines.
According to Vijesti.me (h/t David Lynch of the Manchester Evening News), the Montenegrin striker has suffered a hamstring injury during his national side's preparations for their game with Moldova. Now, he’s expected to miss the Euro 2016 qualifier and is also a major doubt for City’s crunch clash with Arsenal in the Premier League.

After fitness problems and subsequent lack of form punctured Jovetic’s first season in English football, the former Fiorentina man looked as though he was beginning to find his feet in the Premier League during the early weeks of the current campaign; a brace against Liverpool a firm indication of his stellar ability. So naturally, this knock comes at the worst possible time for him.
The player spoke recently about how the support of the club helped him emerge the other side of a turbulent first season, per City Watch:
For manager Manuel Pellegrini, this also represents a major blow to his side’s chances at the Emirates. After sanctioning a deal that saw Alvaro Negredo move to Valencia, there was always a risk one injury could leave City a little short in forward options.

Now he could be left with only a couple of fit centre-forwards for a testing run of upcoming fixtures, although Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero aren’t bad options to call upon.
Jovetic looks primed to play a much more pertinent role in City's campaign during his second year in England. For those of a sky-blue persuasion, hopefully the knock isn't too serious and the 24-year-old can continue to blossom at the Etihad Stadium.
