Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United: 5 Facts from the 2-2 Draw with Spurs
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United shared the points in a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Tottenham took the lead twice through Kyle Walker and then a ferocious strike from Sandro, only to be pegged back twice by Wayne Rooney.
Taken out of context, a draw away to Spurs is a decent enough result for United, but with the draw at Cardiff last weekend and Arsenal winning once again, a victory was a must.
Tottenham will feel they threw away their leads too easily and were on top when they conceded both goals.
Here are five facts to take away from the 2-2 draw:
1. Wayne Rooney's two goals against Spurs mean he has overtaken Robbie Fowler as the Premier League's fifth all-time top goalscorer.
His first goal took his tally to 163 goals and put him level with the former Liverpool striker. His second from the penalty spot and his 164th goal leaves him just four goals behind fourth-place Frank Lampard (168), but 96 goals behind Alan Shearer (260), who tops the list.
2. Luis Antonio Valencia completed the most take-ons in the match, completing three out of five attempted. The United winger, on his own, completed more take-ons than the entire Tottenham team, which only completed two.
3. Spurs right-back Walker attempted the most crosses with 12 and completed four. Valencia, who attempted the most crosses for the visitors, attempted 11 and completed just one.

4. Hugo Lloris did not make a single save during the match despite United's three shots on target, which were all blocked. The Frenchman's only action was a punching clearance.
Lloris has more clean sheets to his name than any other Premier League keeper with seven but Spurs' defenders also deserve the credit in those games. The number of blocks today meant it was uneventful game for their first choice goalie.
5. The draw at White Hart Lane means Tottenham have failed to defeat United at home in the last 13 attempts in all competitions.
It was a closely fought game that did nothing to improve either team's season prospects. Spurs will be happy they were able to increase the tempo thanks to the performances of midfielders Paulinho, Sandro and Mousa Dembele. It was a huge improvement after last week's disaster against Manchester City.
Manchester United, though, will be wondering how to match their Champions League form in Premier League games. Their performance at White Hart Lane was a poor one in comparison to the 5-0 thrashing over Leverkusen.
