Karim Benzema's 50th La Liga goal and a treble from Cristiano Ronaldo enabled Real Madrid to record an emphatic home win against Sevilla.

Manu Del Moral came off the bench to score for Sevilla but if there was ever a case of too little, too late then this was it.

Benzema opened the scoring, applying a finish from inches after Ronaldo's cross was deflected towards goal.

Ronaldo, on the week of his 28th birthday, then made it two with a wonderful strike on his left foot from all of 25-yards.

The Portuguese forward then added two more, firstly capitalizing on hesitancy in the Sevilla defense and then applying a tap in as Madrid broke from box to box in seven seconds.

Gonzalo Higuain and Hedwiges Maduro both saw red in the second half as Los Blancos warmed up for the return of the Champions League in the best way possible.
