0 of 9

    Update: January 31, 2013 6:34 a.m. ET

The LA Times is reporting that David Beckham will be training with Arsenal over the next two to three weeks. However, conflicting reports (see next slide) have Beckham signing with Paris Saint Germain today. Beckham's training stint with Arsenal would provide support to reports last week by the Daily Mail (see below) that Beckham is not expected to make a decision until mid-February.

However, the LA Times report also has Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger saying, "...he wants to get fit again. He is a sportsman and maybe in June he has plans to play somewhere, maybe take three or four months off and prepare for next season." This would indicate that Beckham's decision is still a ways off.

    Update: January 27, 2013 8:30 p.m. ET

The Daily Mail is reporting that world football fans might have to wait beyond the January transfer window to learn David Beckham's newest destination and that Beckham is not expected to make a decision until mid-February.

The article also states that, in the meantime, Beckham will be actively working to recruit more English stars to ply their trade in Major League Soccer. The story mentions Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole, Peter Crouch and Michael Carrick as specific targets.

    Update: January 14, 2013

The Daily Mail is reporting that Beckham could make his decision as early as today. He is reportedly sitting down with his advisors to assess 12 different offers ranging from England to Europe to China to Australia to the Middle East.

    Update: December 31, 2012

Almost since the day David Beckham announced he would be departing the L.A. Galaxy after the 2012 MLS Cup, the transfer rumors have begun to fly.

Where the former England captain ends up is anyone’s guess—with speculation ranging from China to Paris to Australia to a return home to England.

    Here is the latest.

    Update: December 31, 2012

According to a report on Saturday from The Daily Mail, Ancelotti said “We are not interested.”

    Beckham is headed to Chelsea!

Ok, it may not be David Beckham, but his son Brooklyn was reportedly on trial with the London club's youth academy on Tuesday.

Al Nasr

    Update: January 24, 2013 9:34 p.m. ET

The latest team to throw their hat into the David Beckham circus is Dubai-based Al Nasr.

Former England manager Sven Goran-Eriksson, who is the new technical advisor to the club, is attempting to lure Beckham to the United Arab Emirates saying, "If he wants to come I'm sure they would open the gates for him."

    Update: January 19, 2013, 7:03 a.m. ET

Monaco has jumped back to the top of the pile as the rumored destination of David Beckham after Sky Sports reported that the odds on a Beckham move to the Ligue 2 side have been slashed.

The report says that the lifestyle of Monaco is one of the primary draws, but that would seem at odds with the fact that the Beckham's have recently enrolled their children in a London school.

    Update: December 31, 2012

Almost immediately after announcing he was leaving the L.A. Galaxy, David Beckham became linked with a move to French side AS Monaco.

Two weeks ago, those rumors became even more intense when Monaco manager Claudio Ranieri confirmed his interest saying

“'Beckham keeps a passion for football, that's what interests me. It would be helpful in all aspects of the development of the club. He could share his passion with our young players, at 37-years-old, he continues to improve and be professional. All young players need an experienced coach but also references in the locker room.”

However, recent reports out of England late last week indicate that a move to Monaco has collapsed over Beckham’s wage demands.

AC Milan

    Update: January 20, 2013, 10:30 ET

According to a story published on Yahoo Sports via Goal.com, AC Milan coach Massmiliano Allegri has denied claims that Milan is interested in signing David Beckham

    Update: January 16, 2013 7:59 ET

The Mirror is reporting that David Beckham's preferred destination after leaving the L.A. Galaxy was a return to AC Milan where Beckham spent two winters on loan, but that the Italian giants told him no.

The story claims that Beckham sent representatives to the club to see if a return was a possibility, but that the club was not interested.

    Update: January 11, 2013

Big-spending Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala is the latest team to be associated with a move for Beckham, with reports indicating the club is ready to offer the former English captain a two-year deal.

However, almost as soon as the reports emerged, Aznhi denied the deal with their chairman, Konstantin Remchukov, dismissing the reports as "complete nonsense."

    Update: January 9, 2013

The Sun is reporting that Qatar has put together a large bid for David Beckham.

The story quotes a source in Qatar who said,

"When it comes to money offers, Qatar is the biggest by far. Senior figures in the Q League feel Beckham has the total package and they need to up the interest in the game there around the world. They have seen what Beckham did in the US league and feel that type of transformation could be priceless. David is one of the few — possibly the only — soccer player who has the tools to revive the image of the game here.”

West Ham

    Update: January 11, 2013

Well, this one falls purely in the speculation column, but the Daily Mail is reporting that David Beckham is renting out a £20 million home in London.

Having already enrolled his children in a private school in London, the move makes sense.

The big question is, will David be living there with his family as part of a move to West Ham, or perhaps even commuting to a team in Ligue 1? Or, is Beckham settling his family down at home before a move to a more adventurous league while leaving his wife and children in London?

    Update: January 9, 2013

The Guardian reported today that Beckham is expected to make his decision next week, but is not expected to return to the Premier League. According to the same story, he has received offers from 12 different clubs although they were not specifically named in the story.

    Update: January 8, 2013

According to The Standard, David Beckham will not be returning to West Ham. The story quotes a source who said, "Lots of clubs are bound to be linked with David Beckham but he won’t be coming to West Ham."

    Update: January 6, 2013

The Mirror is reporting that after yesterday's Manchester United-West Ham fixture at Upton Park that Beckham attended with his sons, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce responded to a question about bringing Beckham to West Ham by saying, "We will wait and see. You never know."

    Update: January 5, 2013

There's still not a great deal to report in terms of David Beckham's possible transfer moves, but Beckham did attend today's West Ham vs. Manchester United match at Upton Park.

West Ham still remains one of Beckham's possible destinations, but his attendance at today's game may also re-spark rumors of a return to Manchester United and Old Trafford.

Beckham also apparently left the match with four minutes remaining--an odd move for anyone supporting Manchester United given their propensity for last minute heroics.

    Update: December 31, 2012

According to a story published today in The Mirror, Beckham and his wife Victoria have enrolled their four school-age children in a private school in London.

This news is sure to renew speculation of Beckham signing with West Ham. West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is also on record as saying “Yes, I would like to see a fit David Beckham at West Ham.”

Shanghai Shenhua

The Chinese Super League team Shanghai Shenhua has been linked with David Beckham repeatedly, with some stories claiming that Beckham has been offered up to £350,000 per week to play for the club.

Shanghai Shenhua has proved over the past year that it is ready to become a player in big-name transfers as the club signed Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba in 2012.

However, the rumors of a move for Beckham have now begun to cool with the South China Morning Post reporting today that Beckham's signing with the club has become “unlikely.”
