Messi vs. Ronaldo at World Cup? 😱

Top 13 Goals of the Week

Ronaldo Assis de Moreira Mar 9, 2009

Despite incredibly strong competition from Bursaspor keeper Dimitar Ivankov (0.50 seconds in), Lokeren goalie Boubacar Barry and Hertha’s number one Jaroslav Drobny, this week there can only be one schmuck of the week.

Step forward Fortuna Dusseldorf keeper Michael Melka who etched his names into folk law by committing an error that will be viewed for years to come.

Playing away at Regensburg in the third tier of German football, Melka made his reputation killing blooper when he tried to be too quick for his own good. Collecting the ball in a crowded penalty area, the keeper looked to turn defence into attack and launch a quick counter-attack with a long ball upfield. Sadly, the ball never even made it out of the keeper’s box as the ball smacked Regensburg’s Dennis Grassow on his back.

Onto this week’s list.

Their were some awesome free-kicks (goals 2 & 4) accompanied with a collection of belters (goals 1, 2, 10, 12 & 13) that left keepers helpless in the last seven days.

On the more cultured side of things there were goals 5 & 6. While several high quality volleys (goals 7, 8, 9 & 11) completed this week’s selection.

As always, all we ask is that you sit back and enjoy!

2. Nene (Pacos Ferreira v Nacional, Mar. 3, 2009)
