NFL Power Rankings: Stock Watch for Every Division

Chris TrapassoNov 21, 2011

There's been more shuffling in NFL divisional races this week, as the Cowboys overtook the Giants to grab the NFC East and the Ravens hopped the Steelers in the AFC North after their win over the Bengals.

Are the Raiders ready to take command of the AFC West?

Can the Texans win the AFC South without Matt Schaub?

Will the Bears continue their torrid hot streak without Jay Cutler?

So many questions.

With six games to go, let's take a look at the stock of each division.

AFC East

The Patriots should destroy the Chiefs tonight, right? Yes. The Jets and Bills are collapsing (mainly the Bills) and the Dolphins are winners of three straight.

So, where does this division stand?

Their stock is down because the Dolphins are still 3-7 and the second and third place teams are coming off pretty embarrassing defeats.

Stock Down

AFC North

The Bengals haven't been able to "upset" the Steelers or Ravens in their last two games. The Steelers are comfortably sitting at 7-3 and come off the bye next week.

Baltimore is the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Even the Browns are 4-6 and beat the Jaguars this week.

Stock Up

AFC West

The Raiders' last six games? Win, win, loss, loss, win, win. The Chiefs face Brady in Foxborough tonight.

Yikes.

The Tebows, I mean Broncos beat the Jets on Thursday and the Chargers have lost five straight.

What do I make of this division?

Stock Up?

AFC South

Is anyone paying attention to this division? The Colts are the probable winners of the Andrew Luck sweepstakes, the Jaguars are extremely hard to watch and the Titans have 8-8 written all over them. Oh yeah, the Texans are pretty good.

But they have Matt Leinart starting at QB for the remainder of the season. They'll make their first ever postseason appearance this year.

Stock Down

NFC East

The Giants were, well, the Giants were against the Eagles last night. Whenever I'm ready to crown them as the third-best team in the NFC, they play a game like they did yesterday. Eli Manning is a good improviser, but he can't keep bringing them back in the game's final minutes.

The Cowboys avoided a media firestorm by sneaking past the Redskins in OT.

Stock Up?

NFC North

The best division in football. The Packers were exploited on defense by the Buccaneers, but Aaron Rodgers was the difference maker once again.

The Lions and Bears were impressive at home and are both 7-3. Who else is pumped for the Packers/Lions matchup on Thanksgiving?

Stock Up

NFC West

San Francisco 49ers. That is all. Well, actually the Seahawks have proven to be semi-decent.

Stock Down

NFC South

Another competitive division race. The Saints have the best offense in the South, but the Falcons are certainly more complete on offense and defense. Mike Smith's OT call may come back to haunt Atlanta's playoff hopes.

Cam Newton has continued his solid rookie campaign, but can his team play any defense? What about the Bucs?

They played Green Bay close.

Too bad they're 4-6 after going 10-6 last season.
