Fantasy Football Week 11 Projections: Stars Ready to Shine in Primetime

Richard LangfordNov 20, 2011

Three stars are ready to steal the bright shine of primetime in Week 11. They will flash their skills with the nation watching and their fantasy owners smiling. Here are the three.

Eagles RB LeSean McCoy

Opponent: Giants

The Eagles offense has failed to live up to expectations this season. However, that statement does not extend to McCoy. McCoy is turning in a season for the ages.

McCoy has 906 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns. He also has 196 yards receiving with two touchdowns. He will improve on those numbers Sunday night.

McCoy goes up against a Giants defensive line that is more geared towards rushing the passer than stopping the run. They are 20th on the season in rushing yards allowed per game.

The Giants are also 22nd in yards allowed per rush at 4.6. This isn't the only good news for McCoy, either.

New York has the 30th highest percentage of touchdowns coming via the run. Wait, that's not all. The Giants are ranked 22nd by Football Outsiders in terms of guarding RBs in the passing game.

With the Eagles likely starting Vince Young in this game, Andy Reid is going to ride McCoy as much as McCoy's body can handle.

Prediction: McCoy 177 total yards, 2 TDs

Giants QB Eli Manning

Opponent: Eagles

This is not how things were supposed to go for the "Dream Team" Eagles. Playing this star-studded secondary was supposed to mean certain doom for opposing QBs.

That is not what has transpired. This was never more apparent than it was last week when the Cardinals' lightly regarded backup QB John Skeleton threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns.

On the season, the Eagles are a respectable 11th in passing yards allowed. However, that stat does not tell the tale.

This number is more attributable to the fact that teams haven not spent a lot of time running on the Eagles. That is apparent in the fact that Philadelphia is 17th in yards allowed per pass attempt.

This is good news for Eli Manning and the Giants. The Giants are a pass first team. While Eli has struggled with consistency with results in the real world; he has not in the land of fantasy.

Manning enters this game off a nice 311 yard and two touchdown performance against the tough 49ers defense.

Manning will find holes to attack in this game and big numbers will ensue.

Prediction: Manning 28/37, 324 yards, 2 TDs

Opponent: Chiefs

Tom Brady is throwing more interceptions than we are used to seeing from this future Hall of Fame QB. He is also throwing for more yards than we are used to seeing—from anyone...ever.

This week he goes against a Chiefs team that is crumbling. They have looked horrible in their last two games, and they now have to deal with playing with backup QB Tyler Palko.

The Chiefs are 16th in passing yards allowed. However, just like the Eagles, that is more attributable to teams deciding to run on this defense.

Kansas City is 29th in yards allowed per pass attempt. Tom Brady will exploit and inflate that number.

Also, despite teams attacking the Chiefs with the ground game, they have the 21st highest percentage of touchdowns allowed coming via the pass.

The only thing limiting Brady in this game will be the fact that the Patriots will start to run more as their lead builds, but he will already have his numbers by then.

Prediction: Brady 27/37, 301 yards, 4 TDs
