Top Pitchers of 2008
Hey baseball fans! Here are the top five pitchers you should look out for in the 2008 season:
5) Erik Bedard, Baltimore Orioles
Now that he is pitching for a better team, the Mariners, he should improve greatly from last year. There is no doubt that Bedard should win at least 17 games in 2008.

4) Pedro Martinez, New York Mets
With the arrival of Santana, Martinez is no longer the ace in the Mets rotation. After six months of recovery I believe that Pedro should do well in the number two spot. Last year, if he was healthy, the Mets not only would have won the NL East for the second straight year, but would have won the World Series as well. Martinez will win 19 games in 2008.
3) Phil Hughes, New York Yankees
I was impressed on how he pitched not only in the regular season, but the post season last year. In what looks like a young rotation for the Yankees, Hughes needs to win at least 16 games for them to have a shot next year.
2) Dan Haren, Arizona Diamondbacks
Thanks to his transfer from a weak NL division to a strong AL team, Haren is now the number two pitcher in the D-Backs rotation. Since Arizona doesn't have many bats in their lineup, Haren will be required to win at least 18 games.
1) Johan Santana, New York Mets
Santana is the new ace in the Mets rotation. Coming off a down year, Santana needs to regain his old form. The form where he always shut down the heavy hitters. Without a doubt Santana is a favorite to win the Cy Young in the NL. Call me crazy, but I believe that Santana will win 20 games.
So these are my top five pitchers that you should keep your eyes glued on. Some of these pitchers need to bounce back from bad years last year, and others need to prove themselves for the first time. But one thing is certain, 2008 willl be a great baseball year.
