NFL Power Rankings: Who Are the NFL's Top 15 Teams?

Chris TrapassoSep 27, 2011

NFL power rankings have been released on all the major sports websites for Week 4 of the 2011 NFL season, and after scouring the Internet, it's time to list the Top 15 teams in the league.

The lists are different on each site, but let's dissect what teams are the best right now.

Green Bay Packers

No stunner here.

Aaron Rodgers leads the league in quarterback rating, as the offense has been impossible to stop. They are coming off a solid road win in Chicago.

Still, I'd like to see more defense from the defending Super Bowl champs.

New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees and the Saints are operating at a Packers-like pace on offense, and their defense is holding up well enough to give them a chance to win in the fourth quarter.

Detroit Lions

Matthew Stafford. Calvin Johnson. Jahvid Best.

Young. Explosive. Emerging.

This team has all the pieces to be a legitimate contender, and their defense gets scarier with Nick Fairley set to return soon.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills are riding high after breaking their 15-game losing streak against the Patriots in Week 3 and are getting Pro Bowl-worthy play from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and running back Fred Jackson.

The defense needs to improve if they want to stay atop the AFC East.

New England Patriots

Where's the defense?

Tom Brady is putting up astronomical numbers, but if the secondary and defensive front can't stop anybody, New England could be in some trouble.

Houston Texans

Matt Schaub and the Texans squandered a chance for the biggest win in franchise history, but were competitive against the Saints—that means something.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs are the best team no one is talking about. Raheem Morris has assembled a fine group of youthful talent that is growing up in front of our eyes. Great balance.

Baltimore Ravens

They were dominant in their two wins, but what was going on against the Titans? If Torrey Smith turns into the deep threat they've been looking for, Baltimore could sky-rocket up many Power Rankings lists in the coming weeks.

San Diego Chargers

Both of their wins have come against teams currently sitting at 0-3, and they weren't impressive against the Chiefs at home in Week 3. Philip Rivers will rebound after a disappointing effort, and I need to see more from these preseason AFC West favorites.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger is still making plays, but he's running for his life on seemingly every down. The defense is great in crunch time, but the Colts moved the ball surprisingly well on Sunday Night.

Oakland Raiders

This is the one upstart team I wouldn't want to play. Darren McFadden is the top back in football right now and is extremely multi-faceted. I don't want to block that physical defensive line, either.

New York Giants

Great win in Philadelphia this past Sunday, but until the Giants get a bit healthier, it could be a roller-coaster season.

Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo is getting well-deserved notoriety for gutting out a win on Monday Night football with his rib injury, but really, the Cowboys were very sloppy. They could easily be 0-3, so Cowboys fans will take their 2-1 record.

New York Jets

The Jets run defense may not be as stout as we initially believed. Mark Sanchez will have to start winning games for this team if they do not improve.

Tennessee Titans

The loss of Kenny Britt is a major blow to this team especially because Matt Hasselbeck was throwing for a ton of yards with the talented receiver on the field. Is Chris Johnson still holding out?
