NFL Power Rankings Week 4: Who Are the League's Top 15 Teams?

Zach KruseJun 6, 2018

With all 16 games in the books for Week 3 of the NFL season, here is a quick look at the NFL Power Rankings for Week 4.

1. Green Bay Packers (3-0)

The defending champions looked impressive in dispatching their division rivals on the road. You won't hear any complaints over a 10-point win, but it didn't accurately display how much better the Packers were on Sunday.

Offensive fireworks were to be expected, but credit the Saints for floundering early yet staying strong in the red zone on defense. That allowed them to come back and stun the Texans in the fourth quarter.

You simply can't drop the Pats too far, because there's not going to be many days when Tom Brady throws four interceptions. He had that many all of last season.

The Bills were fantastic in their comeback, but a game with that many turnovers was an aberration.

4. Baltimore Ravens (2-1)

The Ravens now have two blowout wins sandwiching one black eye on their schedule. They are still kind of a mystery to me.

Oh, and Torrey Smith—welcome to the land of immortal first quarters.

5. Detroit Lions (3-0)

Yes, the Lions of Detroit find themselves in the top five of the NFL.

While they didn't look dominant getting to 3-0 for the first time since 1980, no one in that city is complaining. Coming back from 20 points down in a place where the Lions hadn't won in 15 years was a character-building moment.

The Steelers really have some adjustments to make on the offensive line, and there are times when this team just plays up to their age.

A win is a win in the NFL, however, and the Steelers feel fine at 2-1. This veteran team is trying its hardest to fight off the Super Bowl hangover.

7. Buffalo Bills (3-0)

You could just feel, as Ryan Lindell's field goal sailed through the uprights, how important that win Sunday was to Buffalo fans. There is optimism inside the city and franchise for the first time in a long time.

Can they now handle the expectations of being 3-0 and atop the AFC East?

8. Houston Texans (2-1)

The Texans should absolutely be kicking themselves for letting Sunday's game get away. They had so many chances to put away the Saints in the first half, but they settled for red-zone field goals.

Do the Chargers insist on playing down to their competition?

What should have been Kansas City's third blowout stayed close as the Chiefs rallied in the second half.

10. New York Giants (2-1)

They roughed up Michael Vick, whether it was legally or illegally, and Eli Manning had one of those games that makes you scratch your head when he's a turnover machine later on.

Huge win for the Giants.

11. New York Jets (2-1)

The Jets got grounded and pounded on Sunday by the Raiders. For a team that prides itself on the running game, a 234-100 disadvantage in yards on the ground is unacceptable.

12. Dallas Cowboys (2-1)

Phil Costa had one of the worst nights you could have as a center, and it nearly cost the Cowboys. How can you mess up so many shotgun snaps?

Tony Romo's gutsy performance—including his completion to Dez Bryant on 3rd-and-21—is the reason Dallas is 2-1.

13. Oakland Raiders (2-1)

How can you not love Darren McFadden? He's putting himself in the running for the game's best running back, no questions about it.

If he stays healthy for 16 games, 1,800 or more yards isn't out of his range.

It wasn't the prettiest thing in the world, but the Bucs got a gut-check win against a Falcons' team that Josh Freeman has struggled to beat. These are the kind of victories that can springboard a season early.

15. Tennessee Titans (2-1)

Losing Kenny Britt for the season is a big blow to an offense that has been explosive despite Chris Johnson being stuck in the mud.

The Titans' defense is among the game's best, however, and that will keep the heat on the Texans all season long in the AFC South.
