NFL: Derek Anderson, Steve Johnson and the Biggest Breakdowns in Week 12

Ethan NorofNov 30, 2010

There seems to be at least one notorious offender each week.

Classically referred to as a scapegoat, the stars that let us down from week to week leave a bitter taste in many a mouth come Monday morning.

While they may not all be as obvious as DA's press conference, there were several players that let teams and their fans down in this past week of action.

Steve Johnson, WR Buffalo Bills

To be fair, there's nobody in the world that feels worse about his dropped game-winning touchdown than he does.

Perhaps the biggest disappointment of the weekend, Johnson literally let a potential win against the Steelers slip through his finger tips. Although Johnson has really established himself as a WR1, Week 12 was not a kind one to the new kid on the block.

Roy E. Williams, WR Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys would've had their third straight win under Jason Garrett if Roy Williams didn't singlehandedly fumble it away.

After catching a pass over the middle from QB Jon Kitna, Williams exploded vertically downfield, looking to outrun every opposing defender. Unfortunately for him, the Saints' Malcolm Jenkins stripped the ball away and sealed the deal for New Orleans.

Darren McFadden, RB Oakland Raiders

After turning in an embarrassing 10-rush, 18-yard performance in Week 11, McFadden had even more trouble against the Dolphins defense.

Attempting eight rushes for a pathetic two yards, Run DMC doesn't seem to have the same burst and explosiveness that made him so successful earlier this season. He knows that this team is going to lean heavily on his shoulders, and he didn't exactly inspire confidence on Sunday.

Green Bay Packers Defense/Special Teams

After Aaron Rodgers and the offense drove down the field in dramatic fashion to tie the game late, the defense let the Falcons have their way and gave up the game-winning field goal.

Instead of moving to 8-3 and remaining in a tie atop the division with Chicago, the Packers slipped to 7-4 and now find themselves playing second fiddle to the Bears.

Derek Anderson, QB Arizona Cardinals

How do you think DA felt when he woke up this morning?

After a reporter questioned Anderson why he was laughing on the sidelines mid-game with his team down by a considerable margin, the former Pro Bowler (wow) went ballistic and went on a profanity-laced tirade that left everybody's jaws on the floor.

While the Cards have said that he'll get one last chance at the starting gig, it's getting downright embarrassing in the desert to watch this football team.
