Report: Kawhi Leonard, Adviser in San Antonio with No Date Set for Spurs Meeting
Kawhi Leonard has reportedly returned to Texas.
According to ESPN.com's Chris Haynes, Leonard is back in San Antonio along with his adviser after spending approximately six weeks in New York rehabbing his quad injury and consulting with doctors.
Haynes added there is currently "no scheduled date" for Leonard and the Spurs to meet.
Haynes' report comes on the same day ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne and Michael C. Wright penned an extensive breakdown of how Leonard's relationship with the Spurs frayed during a season in which he appeared in only nine games because of his balky quad.
Citing sources, those two reported the Spurs' frustration "stems from losing control of the medical care of their franchise player, and the way in which the entire process has been handled by Leonard's representation."
In turn, Shelburne and Wright wrote the Spurs have "grown worried" Leonard's camp could try to use the acrimony as a springboard for a trade request to a larger market like Philadelphia, New York or Los Angles.
It's unclear when the two sides will formally meet again, but Wright reported April 25 that a sitdown with Leonard is "high on the priority list" for the Spurs as they enter an offseason littered with questions.
