Adrian Beltre Exits Rangers vs. Astros After Re-Aggravating Hamstring Injury
Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre left Sunday's game against the Houston Astros after he re-aggravated a left hamstring injury, according to TR Sullivan of MLB.com.
The 39-year-old missed time earlier this season when he landed on the disabled list April 25 with a left hamstring strain. Last year, he started the season on the DL because of a right calf injury and also strained his left hamstring in August.
Beltre has not had many injuries in his career. He has played 143-plus games 14 times, including an average of 152 from 2012 to 2016.

He was hitting .310/.368/.420 with one home run, eight doubles and 12 RBI entering play Sunday.
Texas is in the midst of a second straight disappointing season following back-to-back playoff appearances—and injuries have played a major factor. Before mid-April, Elvis Andrus (fractured right elbow) and Rougned Odor (strained left hamstring) were also shelved.
This latest injury will make it that much tougher for the Rangers to get back on track. And with Beltre's contract set to expire after this season, there's been speculation the team may ship him to a contender so he can try to win that elusive ring. He has 3,080 hits, four All-Star selections, five Gold Gloves, four Silver Sluggers and a home run crown on his resume—but no World Series championship.
With Beltre out, Isiah Kiner-Falefa will likely take over at third base.
