Dez Bryant: It'd Be 'Crazy' to Join Odell Beckham, Giants, Talks Saquon Barkley
As Dez Bryant looks for his next home, the ex-Dallas Cowboys man has his sights set on playing for a former rival.
Bryant told Mike Fisher of 247Sports that he would welcome the opportunity to team up with Odell Beckham Jr. at the New York Giants:
"The Giants got a helluva defense, they're going to pay OBJ, so coming back. Playing with him, Sterling (Shepard)...the tight end (Evan Engram), (QB Eli) Manning? Crazy. ... They draft (Penn State running back Saquon Barkley with the No. 2 overall pick)? That'd be crazy!"

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Bryant has made no secret that he wants to stay inside of the NFC East after being released by Dallas. That means the New York Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins likely top his list of desired destinations.
After spending the first eight years of his career with the team who picked him in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft, he felt the breakup was personal:
It's easy to see why he wants two shots per year at his former team, especially since it waited so long to let him hit the market.
The 29-year-old is not far removed from being one of the best receivers in the game. Bryant had at least 88 catches, 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns in each season from 2012-14. That earned the three-time Pro Bowler a five-year, $70 million deal in 2015.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, the 6'2", 220-pound wideout broke a bone in his foot in his first regular-season game after signing the contract, and a knee injury hampered him one year later.
Bryant made it clear on Friday that money is not his top priority. He doubled down on that to Fisher: "It won't be about the money. It won't be about 'market value.' No. No. Not at all.''
That sentiment could be put to the test if he truly wants to play in New York, as the Giants only have about $5 million in cap space, per Spotrac. The Eagles have the fewest dollars available at just more than $1.5 million, and Washington has nearly $17 million in free space.
While the Giants are just one year removed from a playoff appearance, they also finished with the second-worst record in the NFL last season at 3-13. Injuries, including a broken ankle to Beckham, played a factor in the disappointing performance.
Nobody knows what New York will do with the No. 2 overall pick, whether it be taking Barkley or Eli Manning's successor or someone else. But the idea of having a playmaking trio of Bryant, Beckham and Barkley at his disposal has to be attractive to Manning.
