LeBron James Becomes 7th Player in NBA History to Score 31,000 Career Points
Another night, another historical feat for LeBron James.
Against the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday, the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar joined elite company by recording career point No. 31,000:
But wait...there's more: The 33-year-old became the youngest to reach the milestone:
In a January game against the San Antonio Spurs, he became the youngest member to reach the 30,000-point plateau. At that time, he also became the only player in NBA history to record 30,000 points, 8,000 assists and 8,000 rebounds.
James is playing at an MVP-caliber level once again this season. The four-time NBA MVP is averaging 27.5 points on 54.3 percent shooting, 9.2 assists and 8.7 rebounds per game.
All eyes will be on James as he continues to climb the all-time scoring list. He is within 500 points of both Dirk Nowitzki and Wilt Chamberlain—and yes, he's within 1,300 points of the one and only Michael Jordan.
Despite another triple-double (44 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds) from the King, the 76ers held on for a 132-130 victory to move a half-game ahead of the Cavaliers for the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
