Neymar Transfer News: PSG Reportedly Hope to Finish Deal Next Week
Paris Saint-Germain are said to be confident of wrapping up a deal for Barcelona forward Neymar in the coming days.
According to RMC (h/t Get French Football News), the Ligue 1 side believe they will have their man by Monday or Tuesday. A source speaking to RMC is said to have confirmed "there is a total agreement, even the discussions relating to finer points have been finalised" between PSG and Neymar.
As noted in the report, PSG are said to be ready to meet Neymar's €222 million buyout clause at the Camp Nou.
In the piece, it’s noted that Neymar stormed out of Barcelona training on Friday after appearing to clash with new signing Nelson Semedo.
"Neymar has made his decision," another source told RMC. "His fight with Semedo is a perfect example. Neymar is not really respected at Barcelona. He is always standing behind [Lionel] Messi, who is the pope of the town."
As noted by Sport Witness, it appears plenty of Catalans are unhappy with the way Neymar has conducted himself:
It’s also added that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is taking a personal interest in this deal, one that will see Neymar potentially earn a staggering annual salary of €30 million net.

If the transfer did go through for the sum aforementioned, it’d smash the world transfer record, which currently stands at £89 million; Manchester United parted with that sum to secure Paul Pogba last summer.
As remarkable as it may be, Neymar is arguably worth that kind of outlay. Not only is he one of the most recognisable sporting figures on the planet, he’s a world-class performer and has been for almost the entirety of his time as a Barcelona player.
Per Squawka Football, wherever the Brazilian has plied his trade, he’s always been prolific in front of goal:
You sense if he did make the switch to PSG, the goal return would remain healthy. Not just in Ligue 1, which is not to the same standards as La Liga, but in the UEFA Champions League, too—it’s a competition the Parisians are desperate to win.
Should they sign Neymar, it’s one they may be expected to win. Manager Unai Emery already has a group of excellent players at his disposal, but they’ve come up short consistently in Europe’s elite competition. Having one of the absolute best in the game would take them on to a new level.
The departure of Neymar would also give Barcelona plenty to ponder. Even with a world-record sum of money burning a hole in their pocket, the Brazilian feels like an irreplaceable part of the Blaugrana setup.
